The team achieves this by facilitating and improving access to digital and traditional resources via acquisitions, course reading list and lending services, resource sharing, contemporary library spaces, first point of contact services (chat and information desk), and the universitys open access repository.About the roleReporting to the Library Manager (Access Services), this position contributes specialist expertise and advice to ensure the innovative development of policies and practices for the designated areas of responsibility across the University Library.Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop Library Services: Align library services and spaces with university goals for teaching, learning, and research.Lead Team: Manage and support a team to achieve operational and strategic objectives.Budget Management: Oversee library operating and capital budgets to ensure effective use of resources.Collection Development: Manage library collections, including selection, deselection, and relocation of resources.Optimize Library Platform: Ensure efficient use of the Library Services Platform, providing training and troubleshooting support.Monitor and Report: Track performance through statistics and quality measures, reporting outcomes regularly.Collaborate: Build relationships within the university and represent the library in internal and external forums.Professional Development and Innovation: Stay informed about emerging technologies and best practices to enhance access to scholarly resources.Compliance: Follow university policies and complete other tasks as assigned.Qualifications, skills & experienceA Degree with at least 4 years subsequent relevant experience, or extensive experience and management expertise in technical or administrative fields, or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.Demonstrated ability to promote library services and respond to feedback from library clients.Proven ability to use and promote information technologies, including automated library systems, web-based databases, document supply systems, and Internet resources.Strong understanding of user needs in accessing and using information resources, with highly developed skills in working with scholarly materials across multiple formats and platforms.Strong analytical and information management skills, including the ability to investigate, identify and analyse key issues, evaluate alternatives, and apply new and emerging technologies to improve access to scholarly resources.Demonstrated ability to build and lead a collaborative, high-performing team environment that values diverse working styles and strengths, fosters mutual respect, and works cohesively toward shared goals.Excellent communication, customer service, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage constructively and professionally with academics, researchers, and colleagues, and contribute to a positive and inclusive workplace culture.BenefitsGenerous training and development opportunitiesFriendly and collaborative working environmentDiscounted study at the UniversityHow to applyPlease apply online with a resume and cover letter outlining your suitability for the role.Applications closing date: 18 April 2025For further information on how to apply, please visit: How to apply | Notre DameApplicants are expected to have current and valid work rights in Australia.Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people are encouraged to apply.The University of Notre Dame Australia seeks to increase the diversity of our workforce to better meet the different needs of the University and its stakeholders and to improve equal opportunity outcomes for our staff.Contact usPlease direct your queries regarding this role to Marcia Rodrigues, Marcia.Rodrigues@nd.edu.auUnsolicited contact from recruitment agencies will not be entertained. #J-18808-Ljbffr
