If you are interested in being part of a local and stable icon in the region, here is your chance to join the team.The Transport Operator for the Sugarcane Crush Season is responsible for coordinating and managing the transportation schedules for sugarcane travelling from various farms to the crush mill during the sugar production season. This role involves overseeing the logistics of transporting sugarcane efficiently, ensuring timely delivery to the mill, and maintaining communication with harvesting contractors, loco drivers, haul truck drivers, and mill personnel.Key responsibilities include:Coordinate with harvesting contractors to schedule loading of harvested sugarcane onto locos and trucks.Plan and optimize transportation routes to ensure timely delivery of sugarcane to the crush mill.Manage a team of truck drivers, providing guidance and support to ensure adherence to safety regulations and delivery schedules.Maintain accurate records of sugarcane deliveries, including quantities, quality assessments, and any issues encountered during transportation.Communicate effectively with mill personnel to coordinate receiving schedules and ensure smooth operations at the crush mill.Implement measures to improve efficiency and reduce transportation costs while maintaining quality standards.Address any issues or complaints related to transportation, working to resolve conflicts and maintain positive relationships with stakeholders.What you will need to succeed in this role:Proven experience in transportation management, planning & scheduling preferably in the agricultural or sugar industry.Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.Knowledge of relevant regulations and safety standards for transportation of agricultural products.Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.What you will get in return:A supportive and collaborative team culture.Be part of a locally owned organization that is proud of its heritage.A great opportunity to work in and gain knowledge in a heavy industry.RDO roster system (4 day working week) during non-crushing season.How do your skills match this job?Your application will include the following questions:How many years of people management experience do you have?Which of the following statements best describes your right to work in Australia?How many years'' experience do you have as a Transport Operator?Are you licensed to drive a manual vehicle? #J-18808-Ljbffr
