About the OrganisationUniversal Charitable Fund (UCF or The Fund) was founded by local business people in South Australia as a simple and cost effective way to provide practical support and encouragement to local Non-Profit organisations doing a terrific job in helping people in need both in Australia and overseas.The focus in awarding grants is on those small charities where Local Heroes do great work and where small grants have a strong multiplier effect thanks to the input of volunteers.To date, UCF has supported thousands of people both in Australia and around the world.2. Reporting RelationshipsThe Business Development Officer is responsible to the UCF Directors at bimonthly Board Meetings. Some day-to-day accountability to the Director of Marketing & Business Development and Executive Officer will also be expected in terms of backup for that role and contribution to the smooth running of the Fund.The Business Development Officer (BDO) will work collaboratively with the Board and Executive Officer to identify sponsor leads.3. The PositionThe primary purpose of this role is to increase UCF regular donors and sponsors. The Business Development Officer is responsible for securing ongoing (monthly) donations/sponsors. After-sales care of sponsors will also be critical to build long-standing mutually beneficial partnerships so that they are willing to continue to be sponsors, as well as recommend UCF to others.The Business Development Officer will take a strategic approach to this role managing their workload in a way that delivers a quality experience while maximizing the organisations positive and professional exposure via UCFs LinkedIn and associated social media handles, i.e.: Google, YouTube, Facebook, Instagram etc.Working closely with the Director of Marketing & Business Development and the Board, the Business Development Officer will:Follow up leadsNegotiate sponsorship packagesAdminister any benefitsBe the central contact for sponsorship enquiriesRecommend potential sponsors for sponsorship campaigns within UCF4. Key ResponsibilitiesPrimary responsibilities of the role are to:Develop and manage the donor and sponsorship relationships, including working with the UCF Board to identify and secure new sponsors and convert previous sponsors into ongoing sponsorship.Manage and maintain a database of sponsors.Create, manage and regularly review UCF sponsorship prospectuses, with input from the Director of Marketing & Business Development and Board members.5. Skills and ExperienceEssential skills and experience for this position:Corporate sales and sales marketing experience.Experience creating business social media content (LinkedIn, Facebook, Google, YouTube, Instagram, etc.).High level of computer literacy.Organisational and time-management skills.Desirable skills and experience for this position:Experience working in a non-profit organisation.Prior experience of securing and effectively managing donors and/or sponsorship.6.
