They are seeking an experienced Land Access and Permitting Officer to oversee the management of land access and statutory approvals critical to the successful deployment of telecommunications infrastructure. This is an exciting opportunity to work with key industry players such as Optus, Telstra, Vodafone, and other leading telecommunication providers.Your Role:As the Land Access and Permitting Officer, you will be responsible for managing the entire land access process for complex telecommunications infrastructure projects. This includes negotiating land access agreements, securing statutory approvals, ensuring compliance with environmental regulations, and managing stakeholder relations with local councils, landowners, and government authorities. You will be integral to ensuring the timely and compliant completion of projects, particularly those situated in sensitive or regulated environments such as national parks, rail reserves, and airports.Key Responsibilities Include:Lead the land access and statutory approvals process for telecommunications infrastructure, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations (e.g., Telecommunications Act, National Parks, and Heritage Regulations).Negotiate and secure land access agreements (HoAs, Leases, Licenses) with landowners, local councils, and authorities.Coordinate with environmental agencies, planning authorities, and government bodies to ensure timely approvals for projects in sensitive areas such as national parks, rail reserves, and airports.Develop and implement strategies to manage complex regulatory processes, including heritage, environmental, and zoning requirements, for projects spanning multiple regions.Serve as the key point of contact for stakeholders, ensuring smooth communication between internal teams (project managers, engineers, etc.) and external stakeholders (landowners, government bodies, utilities).Oversee the development of environmental and heritage mitigation measures to ensure that projects meet compliance requirements while minimizing community and environmental impact.Monitor and report on the progress of land access approvals, ensuring that milestones are met within budget and timeframes.Drive process improvements, leveraging tools and templates to increase project efficiency, track key performance indicators, and ensure compliance.Ensure compliance with telecommunications-specific regulations, such as those related to the deployment of mobile phone base stations and fibre optics infrastructure.Manage and review planning and assessment reports (PARs), ensuring that sensitive site identification and mitigation proposals are accurately documented and adhered to.Work closely with project teams to integrate land access considerations into the broader project development lifecycle, from planning through to execution.What We Are Looking For:Extensive experience in land access, statutory approvals, and property management within the telecommunications or infrastructure sector.Proven track record of successfully managing complex land access and permitting for large-scale projects, particularly in sensitive environments such as national parks, rail reserves, and airports.Expertise in working with local councils, government bodies, utilities, and other regulatory authorities to secure necessary permits and approvals.Strong experience with environmental and heritage compliance and the ability to navigate planning approval processes, including zoning laws and heritage considerations.In-depth knowledge of the Telecommunications Act and related industry codes, such as Industry Code C564:2012 for mobile phone base station deployment.Experience with stakeholder engagement and community consultation, managing objections and concerns effectively and efficiently.Ability to track and report on land access progress using project management tools, templates, and systems to ensure clear communication with all stakeholders.Excellent negotiation, communication, and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple stakeholders and timelines simultaneously.A degree in Environmental Science, Planning, Property, or Engineering is desirable but not essential.Drivers license and willingness to travel for site visits as required.Why Join Us:Be part of a leading team working on cutting-edge telecommunications infrastructure projects that are transforming the landscape of Australias digital connectivity.Opportunity to contribute to large-scale, high-profile projects and make a direct impact on the companys growth and success.Competitive salary package, career development opportunities, and a supportive work environment.Collaborative and dynamic team focused on innovation and delivering sustainable solutions in challenging environments.How to Apply:If you have the relevant experience and are passionate about leading land access and permitting activities for large telecommunications infrastructure projects, we want to hear from you!
