The work includes:Providing highest quality, market standard, supplementary evaluation of the financial value and risks in tenders to provide generation or storage. Review and analysis of financial risks in the portfolio of energy assets already approved.Collaboratively sponsor and develop investment support products, in particular products that improve the cost outcomes for consumers and governments, and improve development proposals.Engaging with renewable project financiers and NSW Roadmap entities and developing effective working relationships.Assisting with the establishment and maturing of the NSW Roadmap Scheme Financial Vehicle, so it can effectively execute its finance and risk management roles under the NSW Roadmap. Establishing processes for ongoing monitoring and management of these risks as NSW Consumer Trustee.Advisory to support policy to encourage further electricity infrastructure investment.About the Responsibilities & Accountabilities:Reporting to the General Manager, Financial Markets, this critical leadership role is responsible for:Maintaining a close, constructive working relationship with ASL business units, particularly the Governance & Risk team.Key Consumer Trustee obligations, under the Risk Management Framework, including:Annual review & updating of the Consumer Trustee & Scheme Financial Vehicle (SFV) subsidiary policies.Implement and embed Risk Management Framework and any recommendations for refinement.Building, operating and maintaining a sustainable, efficient and effective system for risk management governance and review of applicable jurisdictional scheme entities, including the NSW Roadmaps Financial Trustee (FT) and the Scheme Financial Vehicle (SFV). This includes, but is not limited to, the reviewing and monitoring of:Liquidity and financial risks (including risk management contracts) within the NSW Electricity Infrastructure Fund (EIF) and SFV.SFVs operational performance and risk governance.FTs governance, services and related board effectiveness reporting.Receiving relevant reports, data and models from SFV, in order to model and effectively identify risks in:SFVs portfolio of underwriting revenue agreement (Long-Term Energy Service Agreements).SFVs portfolio of risk management contracts.NEM wholesale contracts (derivatives) market; and other NSW Roadmap considerations.Developing framework, systems, policies and targets for ASL processes related to the above risks.Continuous development and improvement of the above risk identification methodologies and processes.Understanding of new and developing derivative risk management theories.Creating long-term solutions to risk problems identified & effectively responding to and resolving risk incidents.Developing and managing the relationship between applicable jurisdictional scheme entities, including the SFV and FT, with the teams providing mutual support and helping with the success of those jurisdictional schemes.Developing & sustaining a collaborative and constructive check and challenge relationship with stakeholders at SFV and the FT.Clearly and concisely communicating complex risk and financial markets concepts to senior executives, key stakeholders and AEMO Services Board.Preparation of board papers, reports and other related documents as required.Skills and Experiences:About You & the Role Requirements:Extensive experience working in a related role at a major financial institution, investment arm of a significant corporation or a consulting firm.Strong understanding of financial governance & risk management with exceptional delivery of risk reporting & analysis.Significant exposure to modelling and/or analysing financial risks of derivatives, structured finance, corporate finance transactions or evaluation of investments.Experience developing frameworks for the management of financial risk or operating as a finance SME within such a framework.Demonstrated experience leading & motivating teams to achieve excellence, resulting in high levels of productivity and efficiency & providing support to build the teams capabilities and career trajectories.Demonstrated confidence in establishing constructive internal & external stakeholder engagement, that builds respect and positive relationships.Relevant qualifications in a Business/ Business Administration, Economics / Finance or similar.Proven history ensuring projects are complete on time, within budget and to the required quality standards.Open to identifying and improving professional development areas, including expecting and accepting constructive feedback from team members and stakeholders.Deep understanding of a range of financial markets products, energy market experience is favourable.Seniority levelDirectorEmployment typeFull-timeJob functionFinance and SalesIndustriesUtilities #J-18808-Ljbffr
