But with our table tennis table, pool table, amazing balcony, and fully stocked snack cupboard, we understand if you prefer to hang around!Job DescriptionESV is looking for an experienced Assistant Manager or Client Manager to join one of their dynamic business advisory practices alongside an exceptional Partner.Experience:The ideal candidate will have a solid Business Advisory background working with both listed and unlisted entities. They will also have demonstrable experience providing clients with long-term tax strategies and advice. Exposure to corporate tax would also be beneficial but not required.General ResponsibilitiesComplianceHigh-level understanding of accounting principles by reviewing, critiquing, and championing work.Preparation and review of annual Client Group Packages (financial statements, tax returns, minutes, etc.) and implement strategies that deal with complex issues within the group.Annual and periodic returns (IAS, BAS, FBT, and Payroll Tax). Understand income tax and indirect taxes and effectively explain these concepts to team members and clients.Understand and succinctly explain tax concepts in relation to individuals, partnerships, trusts, and companies to team members and clients. Understand government audit procedures, including ATO & OSR, and be able to provide, in conjunction with Client Director/Partner, relevant documents to the case officer.Ability to manage complex mid-size engagementsDelegate work to fellow team members as required and at the appropriate time.Review the work prepared by fellow team members to ensure accuracy.Liaising with the client or other stakeholders regarding the engagement as required (e.g., bankers, portfolio managers, lawyers, etc.).Manage the WIP and billing for the engagement.Assist in managing internal resources to ensure that deadlines are met. Ability to perform high-level research using electronic resources, for example, ATO resources and Thomson Reuters.Well-versed in complex business structures and their purpose from a tax and/or asset protection perspective or other commercial drivers.Able to clearly explain how these structures work to clients and make recommendations based on their circumstances and goals.Commercial AdviceManagement AccountingThe ability to review client management reports and provide detailed analysis regarding the performance of the entity for the relevant period. In addition, be able to identify trends in the clients business, as well as calculating various financial scenarios for them. Be adept at being able to tell the story behind the numbers in a way that the client understands.Assist clients with respect to the preparation of forecasts for their business, including an understanding of Three-Way Forecasting and how each forecast impacts the other. Be able to derive, in consultation with the client, key performance indicators and recognize critical success factors for the business.Identify and act upon opportunities to add value to existing clients.Assist Client Managers / Client Directors / Partners with preparing ad hoc advice papers as required (e.g., Business Valuations, Due Diligence, Sale of a business) for review.Sound knowledge of corporate governance requirements and their relationship to an organizations strategic management.Assist with trust and estate planning, including understanding the mechanics of various vehicles used during the process.Understanding clients goals and ensuring that our service is tailored towards these goals.Display an advisory mindset and encourage the same from team members.Assist Client Managers / Client Directors / Partners in risk assessments and management of engagements.Understand the obligations under CAANZ ethical standards know what we can and cant say.Desired Skills and ExperienceTo be successful in this role you will ideally have:5+ years'' experience in public accounting or a combination of public accounting and corporate.Management or Supervisory experience.Outsourced CFO or Corporate Tax experience preferred but not required.Superior verbal and written communication skills.Adept at providing sound commercial advice to stakeholders.What we promise to provideExtensive internal and external learning opportunities to support your development.
