Pipe Fabricators are required to provide manufacture and installation of pipework in relation to ship repair, this role is based in both a workshop, aboard all types of vessels and buildings with the use of both ferrous and non-ferrous metals in support of the Naval business in this wide and varied role.Responsibilities include:Ability to jig up, mark off, bend and fabricate pipework.Operation of workshop machinery and operation of e.g. hydraulic benders, threading machines etc.Work across a variety of environments on naval vessels.Assist with developing the skills of apprentices.Working in a team environment which encourages new ideas and improvements.How About You?Cert III Plumbing essential.Experience in MIG, TIG and Stick welding (Cert III Welding/Fabrication advantageous).Forklift, Dogman, working at heights and confined spaces tickets (advantageous).Safety conscious with sound problem-solving skills.Experience in ship repair or heavy industry highly regarded.Good to KnowYoull get an email acknowledgement after youve applied; Thales strives to provide a personalised experience for all suitable applicants.As a Defence security clearance is required for this role, applicants must be Australian citizens and eligible to obtain and maintain an appropriate clearance.
