We encourage people of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander background and people with disability to apply.About the RoleAs a Home Care Worker, you will be providing personalised home care support to older Australians in Newcastle and surrounding suburbs to assist them to continue living independently in their own homes. You will travel between clients homes, so a willingness to travel up to a 60 km radius will be required.This is a Permanent Part Time opportunity with shifts available between 7am and 6pm, Monday to Sunday, with no evening or overnight shifts. Standard shifts are between 2 to 4 hours in length. We are growing our services in the Newcastle area and this role will initially include some administration and marketing responsibilities while a larger client base is built, and the role will then be purely providing services to clients in their homes.This is a great opportunity for someone that is considering a change and looking to make a positive impact in their community, while developing their skills and building a career.Key ResponsibilitiesDomestic assistance such as meal preparation and light house cleaningCommunity access to medical appointments and social activitiesPersonal Care including grooming and showeringSupporting with tasks and routinesBuild positive relationships with clientsSkills & ExperiencePassionate about making a positive impact in our ageing communityCertificate III in Individual Support (Ageing, Disability or similar)An Australian Drivers Licence and reliable vehicle with minimum third-party insurance.Strong communication skills with the ability to build and maintain positive relationshipsA current First Aid and CPR Certificate (must be obtained prior to employment)Successful candidates will be required to undertake relevant pre-employment checks to ensure the safety of our clients.
