This position requires a strategic thinker with a strong background in policy and advocacy, an understanding of the healthcare ecosystem, and a proven track record of stakeholder engagement. The successful candidate will lead a team dedicated to developing effective policy positions, analysing political and policy dynamics, building relationships with key political and policy stakeholders, and executing government relations campaigns that align with our mission and objectives.What will you do:Government Engagement:Establish and maintain relationships with key government stakeholders, including Members of Parliament and departmental officials, across Australia and New Zealand.Represent the company in relevant government forums and initiatives, advocating for the companys interests in the healthcare sector.Policy Development and Advocacy:Develop effective policy positions on issues affecting the company and the broader biopharmaceutical and healthcare ecosystem.Develop, implement, and evaluate government relations strategies that align with business objectives and enhance the companys profile within the healthcare policy ecosystem.Business Impact Assessment:Assess the implications of shifting political landscapes and policy developments on business operations and strategy.Provide senior management with timely insights and recommendations on how to navigate these changes and leverage opportunities.Stakeholder Communication:Develop clear messaging and communication strategies for engaging with government stakeholders, ensuring alignment with corporate objectives.Prepare briefing materials, position papers, and reports for internal and external audiences.Team Leadership:Lead and mentor a team of government relations and policy professionals, fostering a culture of collaboration and high-performance.Ensure the team is equipped with the necessary tools and resources to effectively shape policy and advocate for company priorities.What should you have:Experience:Proven experience in government relations, public policy, or advocacy. Experience in the healthcare industry desirable but not essential.Skills:Exceptional leadership and team management capabilities.Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess complex political and policy issues.Strong understanding of the healthcare ecosystem in Australia and New Zealand.Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate policy positions clearly and persuasively.Proven ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders and input into decision-making processes.Education:Bachelors degree in political science, public policy, law, healthcare administration, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.We are proud to be a company that embraces the value of bringing diverse, talented, and committed people together.
