H&L POS has been the leading provider of point-of-sale and inventory management solutions to the hospitality and food and beverage industry for over 30 years and is embarking on a new era of product growth, building a new generation of POS (Point of Sale) and Inventory Management software solutions.The successful candidate will be based anywhere within commutable distance of our Melbourne office, working in a hybrid work model!What your day will look like:Installation And ConfigurationInstall and configure H&L POS systems, payment terminals, and peripheral devices (printers, scanners, etc.) at client sitesSet up and configure network connections for POS systems, ensuring secure and reliable connectivityMaintenance And TroubleshootingPerform regular maintenance on POS hardware and software to ensure optimal performanceDiagnose and troubleshoot issues on-site or remotely, including hardware malfunctions, software bugs, and connectivity issuesReplace or repair faulty components as necessary, including PIN pads, scanners, and other POS peripheralsClient Support And TrainingProvide on-site support and training to clients, ensuring they understand how to use the system effectivelyAssist clients with issues related to transaction processing, data management, and reportingDeliver exceptional customer service to resolve issues efficiently and professionallyDocumentation And ReportingDocument installation, maintenance, and repair activities in our ticketing system (e.g., Freshdesk)Keep accurate records of customer interactions, issues, and resolutions for ongoing service improvementCollaborate with the technical support team to escalate unresolved issues and ensure timely resolutionWork with the operations team to align on product updates, replacements, and system upgradesQuality Assurance And TestingTest POS and payment systems to confirm all functionalities are working as expected before leaving the client siteEnsure that all installations meet H&L''s quality standards and are configured according to customer specificationsAbout YouAt least a Diploma or degree in Information Technology, Electronics, or a similar related fieldAt least 2 years of experience as a field technician, with a focus on POS systems, payment solutions, or IT supportProficiency in troubleshooting POS systems, network connectivity, and hardware componentsFamiliarity with software applications related to POS, databases, and networkingBasic understanding of SQL and system administration preferredStrong communication and interpersonal skills for effective client interactionAbility to work independently, manage time effectively, and prioritize tasksProblem-solving mindset and attention to detailWillingness to travel to client sites and work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as neededAbility to lift and move POS equipment and peripherals safelyFluent in English, both written and verbal, is essentialLegally authorised to work in AustraliaJoin us at H&L and be part of a dynamic team dedicated to revolutionizing the Point of Sales experience for businesses across Australia.
