We are a progressive organisation that values our staff and offers them superior working conditions.SURA Construction & Engineering has a new opportunity for an Underwriter in a hybrid capacity to join our busy team in Melbourne to work closely with other Construction Underwriters to underwrite risks and quote & bind accounts, as well as build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders including security, brokers, business partners and colleagues.Reporting to the Director of SURA Construction & Engineering, the Underwriter plays a key role in underwriting new and renewable Construction & Engineering insurance business, applying in-depth specialised knowledge, judgement and understanding to provide advice on Construction Insurance.Specific accountabilities for this role include:Prepare new business and renewal premium and policy terms for review by senior staff and referral to Lloyds.Support the development, design and delivery of SURA Construction & Engineering products to Australian Insurance Brokers.Ensure compliance with binder conditions, code of conduct and insurance laws and regulations.Set priorities and monitor workflows within the C&E Underwriting team as required, providing guidance and training to relevant staff and assisting in the review of their work.Experience required to perform the role includes:Relevant underwriting experience in or in-depth knowledge of Construction & Engineering.Proficient understanding of relevant legislation and policy frameworks.Advanced interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills and the ability to liaise/consult and maintain meaningful working relationships at all levels.Advanced analytical interpretation and problem-solving skills.Demonstrated ability to develop internal and external relationships in order to meet and improve financial targets and monitor ongoing progress.Advanced organisational and time management skills with demonstrated ability to work well under pressure, establish and respond to changing priorities, manage multiple tasks and meet competing deadlines by using judgement and initiative.Any offer of employment is dependent upon the satisfactory completion of background checks by AUB Group or by an external third-party on our behalf.AUB Group welcomes all people regardless of ethnicity, faith, sexual orientation, and gender identity, and we are dedicated to providing a workplace environment that supports and values diversity, inclusion and equality.Seniority levelAssociateEmployment typeFull-timeJob functionAdministrative, Consulting, and OtherIndustriesInsurance and Insurance Agencies and Brokerages #J-18808-Ljbffr
