$64,072 $74,462 per year + 12% superannuationThe Rear Loading Collection Vehicle Operator is a member of the Waste Operations team and is responsible for completion of all duties associated with the collection and disposal of garbage from parks and street bins, commercial premises and some residential premises from various locations around the City of Lake Macquarie.As the Driver you will be responsible for:Ensuring that the Waste Services Labourer (Runner) carry out duties in accordance with WHS requirements.Supervising and instructing staff, including new staff, in adopted procedures and manual handling.Operating the garbage collection vehicle with due regard to the safety and work duties of the runner working on the vehicle.Providing maximum productivity with minimum inconvenience to the public.Supervising runners to ensure compliance with all WHS requirements.Making determinations of compliance of waste presented for collection with councils requirements.Reporting any missing, damaged or vandalised bin along with hazardous materials or substances.Communicating effectively with colleagues and external stakeholders.Guaranteeing accurate completion of all associated documentation.Working in heavy traffic conditions.This position works 3.30am to 12.27pm each day, commencing from Council''s Works Depot at Boolaroo.LETS HEAR ABOUT YOUYou hold a current HR Motor Vehicle Drivers Licence.You have experience in operating a Rear Loading Collection Vehicle.You possess a strong team work ethic and work cooperatively to ensure high standards of work.Your integrity is paramount in every aspect of your job.You have previous experience within the Waste Services field and can identify acceptable and unacceptable waste items.Your customer service skills are second to none.LETS REVEAL THE PERKSCompetitive salary from $64,072 to $74,462 per year + 12% superannuation.Commencing salary set in line with skills and experience with annual reviews available to support movement through the salary range.Enterprise Agreement pay increases apply.38 hour working week with nine-day fortnight.We celebrate diversity and are committed to creating an inclusive workforce.
