About the team The Beyond Brave team is dedicated and passionate, with a clear focus on delivering support to survivors of historical child sexual abuse who are wanting to make an application to the National Redress Scheme. Despite the seriousness of their work, they bring joy and humour to the workplace, while consistently supporting and uplifting one another. As a result of their focus and passion, in 2024 the team supported 791 clients and delivered 11,326 sessions to Redress clients. Support is available face to face (depending on the applicant''s location), online or by telephone. Outreach services are available to clients in Townsville, Cairns, Palm Island as well as other FNQ areas and clients applying from gaol. They truly are phenomenal About the position We are looking for an experienced and empathetic counsellor to provide support to survivors of who have submitted an Application to the National Redress Scheme and have received a Section 24 letter from the Scheme requesting additional information to be added to their current Redress Application. As our Case Manager, you will be required to manage a caseload of 40-45 community and incarcerated clients to complete and lodge additional information to allow their applications to progress to assessment. This will entail providing clear and accurate advice, conducting risk assessments and interventions and providing short term trauma informed counselling. About You A minimum of 2-years post graduate experience providing counselling to survivors of complex childhood trauma and/or violence, or in mental health. Degree qualified in counselling, psychology, or social work with eligibility for membership of the relevant professional association (APS, AASW, ACA or PACFA). You must either currently hold a Working with Children Blue Card or be willing to obtaining one and be willing to undertake the necessary checks required to work in Correctional Centres The ability to work autonomously and to exercise initiative and judgement must be one of your proven skills. You will also be well-versed in maintaining professional boundaries, adhering to ethical practices, ensuring confidentiality, and fulfilling mandatory reporting requirements. Why join Bravehearts?
