We strive towards improving the health and wellbeing of our rural communities and believe in creating opportunities, so all Victorians have the choice to access essential primary health care services.About the ProgramFlying Doctor Community Transport provides clients with transport at no cost from home to health appointments and funded Social Support Groups. It is a volunteer-led program, that relies on the generosity of local volunteer drivers.About the RoleThe Volunteer Liaison Officer provides onsite support for the St Arnaud/Warracknabeal Community Transport hubs, including supervision and support for volunteer drivers, managing volunteer availability, connecting with local stakeholders, and support delivery of the Community Transport program into the community.Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:Identifying and managing the recruitment of volunteers to support ongoing service deliverySupport coordination of volunteer availability onsite for rostering purposesMaintaining a high level of volunteer engagement within the Community Transport program through regular meetings, events, and initiativesEnsuring all drivers involved with the program are provided with the necessary training, supervision, and mentoringRotating site visits to support onsite needs, facilities management, and liaison with volunteers and community stakeholdersTo be successful, you will need:Experience in a similar role with an emphasis on Operations and Logistical Planning and/or volunteer managementTo be able to travel between Community Transport sites as requiredComfortable working independently on-site and collaborating remotely (online) with the broader teamAn understanding of the unique challenges faced by regional communitiesTo have and able to maintain strong relationships with regional communitiesThe ability to establish clear boundaries with volunteers and confidently maintain them as neededAbility to work in a fast-paced environment and manage competing prioritiesStrong attention to detail and problem-solving skillsExcellent time management and organisational skillsExcellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively liaise with various stakeholdersProficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Share Point, Microsoft or Google sheetsSatisfactory completion of safety screening including a current Working with Children''s Check, National Police Check, and the right to work in Australia.Desirable:Experience in a community health / charity / not for profit similar operating environmentExperience working with volunteers and/or volunteer management, including undertaking recruitment and onboarding procedures and providing ongoing support and training to volunteersOur BenefitsEmployee Assistance Program (EAP)Access to salary packaging options to reduce your taxable income for all employees, including our casualsOptions for purchased leave availableGreat parental leave benefits in addition to government parental leaveTravel allowance provided or utilise our company car for inter-site commutesNeed more information?For any enquiries, please email careers@rfdsvcic.com.auTo access the position description and to apply please click the Apply to be redirected to our Career Centre.Applications close on Sunday 16 March 2025Please note that we are unable to accept late applications, or applications submitted via email.We aim to fill vacancies as quickly as possible.
