Our people matter to us, and we are committed to supporting them.Competitive Salary + 12% Super + Salary Sacrifice (up to $15,899 for tax-free benefits and $2,650 p/a for entertainment benefits).5 weeks annual leave and 15 days personal leave pro rata.Commitment to professional development.EAP for employees and family members.About the role:The Deadly Choices Program Officer is responsible, as part of a small team, for the delivery of school and community-based health education, promotion and prevention activities; in line with the Regional Action Plan and localised Key Performance Indicators.The Deadly Choices Program Officer is supervised by the Deadly Choices Program Leader and the position has no supervisory responsibilities.This position works closely with other members of the Allied Health team and maintains regular contact with other program staff to ensure effective outcomes for clients.Key responsibilities:Program Delivery: Assist in the logistics and undertake delivery of the Deadly Choices education program into schools and communities.Further Preventative Health Activities: Work with the Team Coordinator to plan and implement localised events.Community Days & Clinic Support Activities: Assist in the logistics and set up for delivery of Community Days and Community Controlled Health Service (CCHS) activities.CCHS Staff Training Workshops: Conduct a range of workshops and support activities for CCHS staff, to improve tobacco cessation screening and intervention practices and processes.Clinic Processes: Work with CCHS to identify and strengthen internal referral pathways between services and programs, to assist access to support services and programs.Marketing and Promotions: Ensure consistency of campaign approach, responsibilities, and messaging.Qualifications and experience:Certificate III or above in Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander Primary Health Care, Community Care or equivalent qualification or two years experience in Community Controlled Health Services.Preparedness to undertake further VET Training (i.e. Cert IV in Fitness).Demonstrated experience working in Healthy Lifestyle or similar Health or Community Engagement / development programs, is desirable.Requirements:Proof of qualifications is required to be provided prior to the commencement of duty.It is a condition of employment in this role for the employee to be, and remain, vaccinated against measles, mumps, rubella, varicella (chicken pox), pertussis (whooping cough) and hepatitis B.The Deadly Choices Program Officer is an Identified position.
