Find your future with us.Location: Toowoomba WellcampCategory: Engineering / TechnicalPosition Type: PermanentJob Reference: BOE/1847615We are seeking a Quality Engineer to join our team supporting the cutting edge MQ-28 program. In this role, you will be an integral part of the Boeing Defence Australia (BDA) Quality function and the growing MQ-28 program accountable for assisting in developing, maintaining and improving the effectiveness of Boeing''s quality system.Boeing is taking another bold step in aerospace and advanced manufacturing and building a manufacturing facility in Toowoomba, QLD. This facility will support the first military aircraft to be designed, engineered and manufactured in Australia in more than 50 years. This role will support the Qualification of new products and processes at the new facility. The preferred location of this role is Toowoomba, however some flexibility exists during the initial stages of development. The first aircraft prototype, called the Loyal Wingman, took its first prototype flights in 2021. This unmanned teaming aircraft is Boeing''s first military aircraft to be designed and developed outside the U.S and uses cutting edge systems to extend the capabilities of manned and unmanned platforms.This role is based in South-east Queensland.Responsibilities:Lead integration of contractual and Boeing Quality Management System requirements into all aspects of program processes and documentationDevelop quality metrics, design and production certification plans to ensure compliance with contractual, Company and regulatory requirementsDevelop Quality criteria, conduct capability assessments and process validations to support supplier selection activitiesDevelop and select methods for analysis, testing and audit to ensure manufacturing and test readinessSupport the Qualification of first of type products in a new production facility in ToowoombaPrepare, conduct & produce First Article Inspections Reports (FAIR)Facilitate in Failure Mode Evaluation Analysis (FMEA) for new production partsCollaborate with the wider business Quality function, reporting in on metrics and findingsSupport Quality Production Specialists in their rolesPerform benchmarking and other forms of analysis to ensure specified processes capability levels are achieved.This role may involve some initial travel between Brisbane, Melbourne, Wacol & Toowoomba for training & familiarity purposes.Highly Desirable:Part/process qualification/certification experienceHands-on experience in an aerospace or similar advanced assembly/fabrication type environmentAdvanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) knowledgeTertiary Qualification in Engineering/Manufacture or similar disciplinesApplicants must be Australian Citizens to meet defence security requirements.About Us:Boeing Defence Australia is shaping the future of aerospace and delivering some of the nation''s most important programs for the Australian Defence Force.
