As part of the regional Project Commercial team, you will collaborate closely with the Global Projects APAC and Studies teams to successfully deliver the Cadia Mine Tailing program. Additionally, you will develop strong working relationships with the Project Director and their leadership team.The primary purpose for the position will be to manage the on-site project execution commercial team and off-site commercial resources supporting the studies team.Key responsibilities will include, but not be limited, to:Execute stage-gate project commercial contracting requirements.Formulate and execute fit for purpose contracting and procurement management plans and packaging strategies.Implement commercial risk strategies, structure, risk allocation and incentives as required.Liaise with project stakeholders and manage overall third-party performance.Monitor risks including contractor staffing, defaults and labour fluctuations and formulate contingency plans and strategies to minimise negative impact.Execute pre-award strategy, contracting plan, market process, contract negotiation, execution, and post-award pre-mobilisation, mobilisation and close out commercial activities.To be considered for the position you will have:Bachelors Degree in Construction, Law and/or Engineering (Civil or Mining preferred).Significant experience in Project Procurement, Commercial, Supply Chain, Contract Management, Project Management and/or Consulting within mining; owner operation and/or Tier 1 & 2 contractor/EPCM.Demonstrated exceptional expertise in developing and implementing commercial and contracting strategies.Superior contract drafting and negotiation skills, coupled with an appropriate understanding of Australian jurisdictional law.Extensive project contracting, procurement and contract administration experience across all study/project phases, including execution.Demonstrated people leadership of on-site permanent and contractor teams with effective people performance and development skills.Ability to prepare executive approval documentation.Knowledge of risk and commercial allocations in contracts to enable confident consultation across Legal, Risk and Insurance teams.Proficient skills in MS Office, Ariba and SAP applications.Full and unrestricted eligibility for employment in Australia.The position will be offered as residential in Orange, or near surrounds, on a 5:2 roster.
