This role leads a team responsible for the design of Infrastructure and Network solutions, and the engineering delivery of Infrastructure and Network projects.The responsibilities encompass the processes ownership for end to end network and infrastructure design activities as well as leading the delivery of network and infrastructure projects. The role requires an innovative culture with a mindset of automation first that promotes lateral thinking, while adopting a collaborative approach to problem-solving.About the opportunityOwn the detailed design outcomes for Infrastructure and Network Engineering.Strong technical background in modern networking practices (Public Cloud Networking, SASE) with experience in design and engineering mission-critical, large-scale platforms and networksStrong technical background in hyper converged infrastructure (various HCI technologies including VMWare)Experience with modern engineering practices and infrastructure as code technologies to drive automation (Ansible, Terraform, Packer etc)Extensive experience leading a design and engineering function.A mandatory detailed knowledge of modern networking principles (SASE, Cloud).Demonstrated skills working with internal customers in a large-scale development environment.Proficient in both waterfall and agile development methodologies.Ability to navigate and resolve conflicts that may arise between different teams or stakeholders.Experience in managing competing priorities, negotiating compromises, and finding solutions that balance the needs of various parties involved.Key working relationships:Windows and DBA ManagerNetwork ManagerDelivery Leads / Project and Program ManagersProven ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, such as development, security, architecture.Be comfortable building and maintaining relationships with external vendors who provide infrastructure and network-based products and services (CISCO, PA, Microsoft, VMWare).Were delivering togetherAt Australia Post, we acknowledge the Traditional Custodians of the land on which we operate, live and gather as employees.We believe our business should reflect the diverse communities we operate in and are proud to be an inclusive workplace for people from all walks of life.
