Utilising waste accounting technology, the position will operate weighbridges and associated technology to accurately record transaction details.The position will also be required to undertake general administrative tasks associated with the Magnetic Island site. Primarily located at the Magnetic Island Waste Facility (MIWF), the position will work under limited direction and may be required to operate at alternative sites as business needs change.About YouOur ideal candidate will have:Certificate III in Business or similar competency.Extensive experience in an administration or customer service role, providing front line service to external customers.Strong verbal and written communication skills including the ability to provide high-level customer service and organise and communicate information clearly through a variety of customer contact channels.Proven ability to engage with the community and present a positive experience to all internal and external stakeholders.A sound ability in the use of the Microsoft suite of products and other key enterprise systems (including ECM, CES, Property & Rating) and the ability to train other staff.Sound knowledge to be point of contact and to undertake troubleshooting for key enterprise systems including but not limited to CCTV and all office equipment.Highly developed skills in administration, cashiering, and computing (including keyboard accuracy) with demonstrated experience in cash handling, applying charges, banking and security requirements for handling public money.A high level of demonstrated ability to undertake general office management including, record creation, filing, data entry, and reconciliation of daily activities and report writing.Proficiency in the use of specialised weighbridge software or the ability to acquire these skills.Sound knowledge (or the ability to obtain) of the acceptance criteria of the landfill facility and the resource recovery retail store.A sound ability to apply retail experience and skills for the resource recovery retail activities.Demonstrated knowledge of relevant waste legislation or the ability to quickly acquire such knowledge.Must be willing to undertake duties in various council work locations throughout Townsville as directed.How to ApplyYour application can be submitted through the ''Apply'' button.
