CGH is located in the City of Sale which is 215 km east of Melbourne. The City of Sale is an ideal access point for the magnificent Gippsland Lakes, 90 Mile Beach and the Victorian Alps.CGH provides acute care as part of an integrated service delivery model across Wellington Shire and beyond. The service provides beds across three campuses (Sale, Maffra and Heyfield). Acute services include a full-time emergency department, critical care unit, neonatal critical care unit, three operating theatres, day procedure unit, oncology and dialysis services in addition to general medical services and sub-acute services including rehabilitation.CGH is also a leading teaching hospital, affiliated with Monash University''s School of Rural Health and provides placements and clinical experience for students.About DepartmentThe Learning Services department is based at the Sale campus. It provides ongoing professional development and support opportunities for all CGH employees, covering all CGH campuses including Maffra, Heyfield, Stretton Park, Rosedale and Loch Sport.About the RoleThis role is a capability-building and professional engagement related position, designed to leverage the appointees knowledge and expertise, and build capability and skills of CGH staff and learners in order to provide excellence in care. The appointee is expected to keep abreast of best practice activities, technologies and research related to healthcare and education, especially in the application to learning and teaching innovation.Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:Design and deliver continuing education sessions on new procedures, surgical techniques, and technologies used in the operating suites to maintain clinical excellence.Partner with the Operating Suites Nurse Unit Manager (NUM) to establish and circulate an agreed upon annual education calendar in alignment with the CGH Education Framework and Education Partnership arrangement.Actively engage and facilitate wider learning services education sessions such as IV cannulation, Venepuncture, TVAD, Hospital Orientation, careers expo sessions and others as they arise.Collaborate with academic institutions to facilitate post-graduate clinical assessments and achieve required learning outcomes.Coordinate and facilitate tutorials and targeted study days for post-graduate students to assist in translating theory to practice.Qualifications, Skills and ExperienceCurrent registration with AHPRA.Significant experience in clinical education supervision and development.Relevant postgraduate studies or equivalent.Cert IV in Training and Assessment (or willingness to complete).ApplicationPlease attach your resume and cover letter to your application addressing qualifications, experience and Leadership Requirements relevant to the role.All appointments are made subject to the candidate providing a current satisfactory National Police Certificate and obtaining a Working with Children Check.At CGH we acknowledge the importance of creating a work environment that is welcoming, safe, equitable and inclusive.
