Position OverviewThe Production Manager plays a pivotal role in ensuring the operational and logistical success of NAFA 2025. This role is production-heavy and requires extensive experience in large-scale event and festival production, with a deep understanding of live performance technical requirements, logistics coordination, and site operations. The Production Manager will be responsible for delivering complex, multi-site productions and working closely with artists, production teams, and stakeholders to deliver a seamless festival experience.About NAFAThe North Australian Festival of Arts (NAFA) is an annual celebration of arts, culture, inclusion, and community. With world-class programming each year, NAFA not only enriches the local community but also strengthens Townsvilles standing as a destination for artistic excellence.Attracting over 60,000 visitors annually and featuring more than 100 performances, the festival offers a dynamic range of shows, experiences, and venues that showcase the diverse art scene of North Queensland. NAFA supports local talent, nurtures emerging artists, and champions Indigenous-led arts initiatives, promoting greater cultural diversity and inclusion across the city and region.Key Responsibilities:Oversee and manage all aspects of festival production, including logistics, scheduling, and site operations.Coordinate technical requirements for performances, installations, and events.Work closely with production teams, suppliers, and venue staff to ensure smooth delivery.Manage bump-in/bump-out schedules and venue allocations.Oversee the use of production equipment, including audio, lighting, and staging (note: maintenance handled by external contractors or technical staff).Ensure compliance with safety and risk management protocols.Liaise with artists, producers, and key stakeholders to facilitate technical requirements.Recruit, supervise, and manage production crew, including casual and front-of-house (FOH) staff.Troubleshoot technical and logistical issues as they arise.Maintain oversight of production budgets and logistics costs.Assist with festival wrap-up, reporting, and evaluation.Undertake on-site festival tasks as required.Oversee bump-in and bump-out processes and book in contractors, food trucks, and other necessary suppliers.Skills and Qualifications RequiredProven experience as a Production Manager or in a similar large-scale event production role.Proven experience delivering large-scale productions across multiple sites and venues.Strong knowledge of live performance production equipment, including lighting, audio, and staging.Excellent organisational and multitasking abilities.Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure.Understanding of workplace health and safety (WHS) standards in event production, with a commitment to following all safety protocols and procedures.Strong interpersonal and communication skills.Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as required.A team player who is proactive and detail oriented.Open drivers license.Willingness to undergo a police check and obtain a Blue Card (Working with Children Check).Desirable:Experience working in regional or outdoor festival environments.Familiarity with production scheduling tools and event management software.Knowledge of accessibility and sustainability practices in festival production.Additional driving certifications such as a forklift license or other relevant tickets. #J-18808-Ljbffr
