We know that circumstances can create barriers to learning, so we offer our students personalised pathways, flexible study options, and learning support.About the Role:Provide Educational Leadership to staff and students across the Department programs and support the operational activities including quality assurance, student and staff issues, student progress, and recruitment of students and staff.Duties:Address student complaints in a timely manner.Roster and manage teaching staff.Complete and publish timetables for each course in consultation with lead teachers.Complete all TAS and required course templates.Complete individual performance plans with all direct reports.Ensure teacher currency and review submitted staff VCM documentation/CV/evidence.Undertake course evaluation and drive improvement where indicated.Ensure website course currency; routinely check website content.Develop and publish training plan/E-training plan ready for enrolment.Participate with curriculum unit and industry in validation process of current course and future courses.Minimum Requirements:A Degree, Diploma, or Certificate relevant in both content and academic level and industry experience relevant to the Horticulture areas.TAE40116 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment or TAE40110 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment that includes TAEASS502 Design and Develop Assessment Tools and TAELLN411 Adult Language, Literacy, and Numeracy (LLN).A course of teacher training accredited at Australian Qualification Framework Level 6 or above in Adult Education.Relevant industry experience in the Horticultural industry including practical experience in Horticulture processes and workflows.Demonstrated ability to teach and manage Horticulture programs within a TAFE environment.Excellent oral and written communication skills as well as the ability to effectively resolve issues surrounding administrative systems and staff rosters.Well-developed skills in teaching including the ability to select and use a wide range of teaching and assessment strategies appropriate to a diverse student population and the competency standards required.A sound knowledge of the diverse areas within the Horticulture industry.Capacity to work effectively in a team environment and to adapt effectively to change.Capacity to plan, schedule, and meet agreed deadlines in the completion of duties.Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of policy and legislation pertaining to the position, including but not limited to; Anti-Discrimination Legislation, Occupational Health and Safety policies, Quality Assurance, and Continuous Improvement.Driver''s licence.A Working with Children Check (Employee) is required for the successful applicant.A National Police Check is required for the successful applicant.How to Apply:Please submit the following documents for your application to be considered:Current CV.Cover Letter (Please ensure that you address the Key Selection Criteria outlined in the position description).If you email us, please make sure you put the job title and job number in the subject line.Please note, applications received via email will not be considered - you must apply via the website.Candidates must hold a valid Employee Working with Children Check (WWCC).
