Job Description

The Virginia League for Planned Parenthood (VLPP) is seeking a Clinician to support the Virginia Beach and future Chesapeake clinics.VLPP clinicians provide high quality patient centered care in accordance with practice protocols. This may include initiation and maintenance of patients seeking general (primary) healthcare, family planning services, gender-affirming hormone care and abortion services. Functions within the medical protocols established within the standards and guidelines and standing orders and as part of a patient care team.Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:Perform all tasks according to VLPP Medical Standards and Guidelines as well as relevant HIPAA, CLIA, OSHA, VDH and other regulatory requirements, including infection control standards and security guidelines.Greet patients in a friendly and welcoming manner.Review and interpret patient medical and social history.Provide patients with appropriate and unbiased information, education and resources related to general health, chronic medical conditions, family planning methods, sexually transmitted infections, pregnancy options and abortion services.Perform appropriate medical assessment and management for a range of conditions as per appropriate scope of practice and training. This will be assessed by the Chief Medical Officer and/or her delegates.Evaluate patient needs, provide treatment options and implement regimens, including administering and prescribing medications.Perform procedures as trained/privileged, such as EKG, spirometry, ultrasound, IUC insertion/removal, implant insertion/removal, colposcopy, LEEP, etc.Provide medical management for procedure-related complications; assume lead role in management of emergency situations as necessary.Order lab tests as indicated, interpret results and ensure appropriate follow-up.Perform PPM procedures as approved by the Lab Director and participate in internal and external assessment of lab proficiency.Perform accurate and thorough medical documentation in patient records and clinic logs; file and maintain patient records.Ensure complete and accurate coding for visits/services rendered.Participate in patient follow-up and referral systems in compliance with indicated treatment plans, notification and reminder requirements and timelines.Respond to client telephone and electronic inquiries/requests regarding their medical care and condition.Participate in affiliate Quality Assurance efforts including audit review.May be called to provide backup coverage for nursing roles in Abortion Services and Clinical Consultation Line coverage during times of short staffing and/or training.Participate in affiliate training programs by attending scheduled group trainings and meetings, reading and integrating assigned written materials and completing individual eLearning modules as required; assist in efforts to train new staff including licensed and non-licensed staff as necessary.Participate in clinic efforts to achieve customer service, productivity and revenue goals; demonstrate commitment to centers operating values of patient-centered care, team approach to work and consistent regulatory compliance/inspection readiness.Precept/train medical trainees and students within guidelines of affiliate programs.Provide medical oversight and training of unlicensed staff as necessary.Serve as a member of the clinician team and QRM committee or subcommittees as assigned.Provide backup for recovery room and sedation nurses as necessary/able.Perform other duties as needed/required.Experience Required: None requiredEducation / Certification Requirements: FNP, WHNP, CNM, or PA in the State of Virginia, to include prescriptive authority, DEA license, Current BLS certificationSupervisory Responsibilities: NoneAdditional Qualifications: Experience with LARC including IUDs and implants, medication abortion and ultrasound, GAHT or primary care preferred.The salary range for this position is between $110,000.00 - $123,000.00.Benefits include:Medical InsuranceVision Insurance401k matchingEmployer sponsored life insurance9 paid holidays per yearPaid Time OffEmployer Assistance ProgramSchedule: Full-time Monday-Friday between 8:30 am and 7 pm, 40hrs/week, 4-5 days/week, and one Saturday every 4-6 weeks.Who We Are:At Planned Parenthood our mission is to ensure all people have access to the care and resources they need to make informed decisions about their bodies, their lives, and their futures.
