Your passion for machining is evident in the way you approach every job, ensuring that each component meets the highest standards of precision and quality.Essential Qualifications & Experience:Relevant certification: Trade Certificate III in Machining or Fitting/Machining.Minimum of 5 years of post-qualification experience in both manual and CNC machining.Proficiency in operating manual lathes, milling machines, horizontal/vertical borers, and grinders.Experience operating and programming CNC lathes, CNC machining centres, and CNC milling machines (Mazatrol experience highly regarded).Strong ability to interpret technical drawings.A keen eye for detail, precision, and quality control.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.A strong work ethic and problem-solving mindset.Valid White Card and Police Clearance.WA Drivers License and ability to pass ongoing Drug & Alcohol testing.Non-essential, but highly desirable:Hydraulic cylinder experienceLine boring experienceCompetent towing a trailerHR LicenceForklift LicenceThe Role:This role involves both manual and CNC machining, making it ideal for an experienced professional who is adaptable, precise, and passionate about their craft. As a Machinist, you will be responsible for setting up and operating both manual and CNC machines to manufacture precision components.Key Responsibilities:Set up and operate CNC machines to perform precision machining of components based on blueprints, technical drawings, and job orders.Set up and operate manual lathes, milling machines, and borers for custom machining tasks.Load raw materials into machines and secure them properly to ensure accurate machining.Install and adjust cutting tools, machine attachments, and fixtures as required for each job.Monitor both CNC and manual machining processes and make necessary adjustments to ensure proper dimensions and surface finishes are achieved.Conduct regular inspections of finished products to ensure adherence to quality standards and specifications.Perform routine maintenance on machines and equipment to ensure optimal performance and longevity.Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot and resolve issues that arise during the machining process.Follow safety guidelines and maintain a clean and organised work area.Keep detailed records of production data and completed jobs for tracking purposes.Additional Considerations:Site-specific induction and entry cards, such as RIO, BHP, FMG, or MSIC, will be highly regarded.The position is based in Karratha and involves local work, although those willing to relocate may be considered for short-term FIFO engagement during probation or relocation.Why Join Our Team?At KAW Fluid & Precision Services, we offer more than just a job; we provide an opportunity to grow, learn, and thrive in a dynamic and supportive work environment.
