We are looking for a highly motivated, well-organized individual, who thrives in a fast-paced environment, to join the Calm Air family.What You''ll Get to DoAir Transport Cargo Handlers operate ramp-servicing vehicles and equipment, handle cargo and baggage and perform other ground support duties at our facilities. They are responsible for ensuring cargo reaches its destination safely and on time.Drive and operate ramp-servicing vehicles and equipmentPosition passenger loading stairs and operate aircraft cargo doorsMarshal or tow aircraft to gate positions for passenger boarding and deplaning and for loading and unloading of cargoLoad, unload and sort passenger baggage and/or freight from aircraft and trucks according to security regulationsTransport freight between aircraft and airport warehouseReceive, count, tag and weigh all incoming freightUse the Amelia Cargo System to arrive, depart, allocate, manifest and create consignmentsDaily inventory of consignments within the warehouseNotify customers of inbound freight for pickup within the warehouseOrganize the warehouse to ensure all freight is stored in the appropriate areasProvide a daily on-hand report of all cargo shipments in the warehouseAnswer customer inquiries via email/phone/in person, regarding any cargo questions/concernsPrepare freight for transport while adhering to all Calm Airs policies and proceduresProvide exceptional customer service and answer all emails in a timely mannerComplete regular training via Calm Airs online training platform and ensure it is kept up to dateUse the Calm Air scanning software for cargo and baggage-related functionsCheck coolers and freezers daily to ensure they are operationalAircraft de-icingAll other duties as assignedHours of WorkShift work is required and may include mornings/afternoons, evenings and weekendsSkills & Experience We ValueHigh school diploma or general education degree (GED) is an assetAbility to read and write, basic math skillsAbility to effectively communicate orally and in writingCriminal Reference CheckExcellent listening skills with the ability to follow directionAbility to lift 50 lbsValid drivers license Class 5FPrevious experience & knowledge in warehousing, receiving and inventory control are considered an assetAbility to obtain and maintain AVOP pass as per Transport Canada rulesPreference given to Inuit Land Claims BeneficiariesInuktitut language is considered an assetThe Benefits of Joining Our TeamAlong with being one of Manitobas Top Employers, we are proud to provide a cooperative and enriching work environment.
