We are looking for an experienced FSA / Cook to join our catering team at the Fred French Residential Aged Care Facility in Launceston. This is a permanent part-time position, offering 57 hours per fortnight, with a combination of FSA and Cook shifts, making it a dual role.About us: As a proud not-for-profit organisation since 1922, Respect Aged Care serves older residents through our high standard of care and community. Respect also has home care services in multiple states, and more than 700 units in different retirement villages and independent living communities.About the position: In this dual role, you will work under the guidance of the Chef/Cook and Chef Supervisor. As a Food Services Assistant, you will contribute to the implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of the Food Safety Program (FSP) while ensuring the provision of a variety of quality food and beverages that meet residents'' individual needs and preferences. As a Cook, you will prepare, cook, and serve nourishing, palatable, and attractive meals in line with the Food Safety Program guidelines, ensuring the highest standards of quality and care for the residents.Key Duties and Responsibilities:You will assist with the day-to-day preparation, provision, and presentation of high-quality food and beverages, ensuring all meals meet residents'' preferences and dietary requirements. This includes working closely with the dietician, speech therapist, and clinical care team to meet individual nutritional and hydration needs.You will assist with the preparation, serving, and delivery of food in accordance with FSP guidelines, ensuring meals are presented and served in a timely and friendly manner to all residents.As part of your role, you will monitor and record FSP requirements, including temperature recordings and goods receipting. General cleaning in accordance with FSP standards and maintaining a clean, safe work environment will be part of your daily responsibilities.Working in partnership with the Chef Supervisor, you will help implement, deliver, and monitor the FSP, ensuring all stock requirements are reported for ordering and safe work practices are regularly promoted.You will support all catering staff and plan your daily workload efficiently, with or without supervision. Additionally, you will be expected to report any concerns or difficulties related to food and beverages to the Registered Nurse In Charge, as well as perform other tasks within your skill set, as directed by the organisation.Essential Requirements:Food Handling Course.A certificate relevant to the role (e.g. Certificate III Hospitality Commercial Cookery).Current National Police Certificate (or ability to acquire).Experience in residential aged care.Experience in Hospitality.To be considered for employment with Respect, each candidate must satisfy the legislative requirements of Aged Care Worker Screening to ensure suitability to work in the aged care industry. #J-18808-Ljbffr
