PN1023 Branch Business ManagerAPS5Ongoing/non-ongoingClosing: Sunday 20 April 2025, 11.59pm AESTContact Officer: Fred Nucifora, General Manager Major Projects, Ph. 0418 740 804The PositionWe are seeking an experienced professional to provide high-level business services and support to the General Manager - Major Projects, working to deliver on priorities of the Major Projects Branch, and the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park Authority more broadly.The Branch Business Manager works closely and collaboratively with the branch leadership team, the Executive Assistant and across all sections of the Branch. The position thereby actively contributes to the overall efficiencies and deliverables of the Branch often in an environment of changing priorities. The role will actively participate in project management activities for the Branch by providing project management capabilities such as supporting the planning, management, budgeting and resourcing of project initiatives in a dynamic environment.This role is the vital link to the Reef Authoritys Corporate Services Branch and provides direction and guidance for business policy and procedure related matters relevant to delivery of branch business. The role manages, coordinates and improves the branchs business processes, including but not limited to finance, human resources, procurement and contracts, ensuring effective delivery and continuous improvement.The position is the onsite location representative, on behalf of the General Manager, for office operations relating to the Major Projects branch and supports these functions in our regional offices.Key ResponsibilitiesProvide oversight to business processes across the Major Projects Branch. Working closely with the Reef Authoritys corporate services sections to provide professional and policy advice relating to the delivery of business activities.Apply innovation initiatives to deliver business services that maximise the benefits of change and contribute to the improvement in quality and efficiency of business services within the branch.In collaboration with the General Manager and branch leadership team, support the development of section plans that deliver against corporate objectives and more broadly the strategic planning for the branch.Undertake specialist or technical research and analysis, conduct investigations, and provide advice that supports the development and monitoring of the branch business environment including budgets and staffing.Manage work priorities and monitor progress to achieve results demonstrating the ability to be agile and responsive to changing requirements.About YouYou are organised and can work effectively in a complex, fast-paced, diverse work area, and are successful at balancing competing priorities.You can work with limited direction, applying judgement, logic and discretion appropriately.You are a natural problem solver, a doer and are known for seeing things through to completion.You are an excellent communicator, in both oral and written forms and apply these skills to strengthen internal relationships.You will be able to plan and manage projects from beginning to end with a good attention to detail and strong time management skills.You have experience in financial reporting, government procurement processes, contract management and agile ways of working.You can prioritise and align operational activities to organisational objectives to complete tasks on time and to a high standard.Essential requirementsA minimum of five years experience in a similar role providing business support services to multi-disciplinary teams.Demonstrated professional experience in project/administration management, including quality assurance and reporting against essential business elements (procurement, finance, and staffing).Knowledge and understanding of public sector business operations and corporate functions and associated regulations and policies.Highly desirable qualifications or equivalent experienceQualifications in project management or project administration (or equivalent experience)Qualifications in business or administration (or equivalent experience)About the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park AuthorityWe are dedicated to the long-term protection, ecologically sustainable use, and enjoyment of the Great Barrier Reef.
