The successful candidate will be instrumental in implementing the regional strategy, building critical relationships, setting up infrastructure, recruiting a workforce and mobilizing operations on the ground. This role requires hands-on experience in business setup, excellent project management skills, and a passion for making a meaningful impact in the community. This is an operational leadership role, responsible for collaborating on the design and leading the implementation of high-quality programmes that meet the needs of customers and funders and align with the highest standards of quality and compliance. The Director of Business Operations will play a pivotal role in influencing the future of Fedcaps offer, balancing immediate priorities with long-term ambitions. Working collaboratively across the organisation, they will ensure the Asia Pacific programmes integrate seamlessly with Fedcaps wider programmes to deliver real, measurable impact.KEY RESPONSIBILITIESStrategic LeadershipLead on the implementation of the vision and strategy for Fedcap as a market entrant in Australia ensuring alignment with funder objectives, emerging opportunities at local and national level, and the organisations mission.Collaborate with international teams to integrate regional strategies with global initiatives.Monitor regional market trends, policy developments, and priorities to ensure Fedcap, as a new entrant, is responsive and positioned for growth.ComplianceSupport entity set up of Australia within the wider group structure with aligned governance requirements.Map local legislative and regulatory compliance requirements and develop/procure aligned systems, practices and partners to ensure adherence.Map local accreditations, awarding bodies, quality frameworks required for good service delivery.Set up and maintain administrative processes and infrastructure, including IT systems, to support efficient service delivery.Operational MobilizationOversee the recruitment and training of a local workforce, ensuring that staff have the necessary skills and knowledge to deliver high-quality services.Implement and monitor operational plans to ensure timely project delivery and effective resource allocation.Identify and secure suitable premises that meet the operational needs and comply with local regulations.Develop and implement risk management strategies to mitigate potential challenges and ensure continuity of operations.Coordinate with Group finance teams to establish and manage budgets, financial reporting, and ensure cost-effective operations.Engage with local suppliers and partners to procure necessary goods and services, fostering strong business relationships.Ensure compliance with all contractual obligations, including reporting requirements and service standards.Facilitate regular communication and feedback loops with stakeholders to ensure alignment and responsiveness to their needs.Stakeholder EngagementBuild and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, funders, government bodies, outsourced services and community groups to develop strategic partnerships and raise Fedcaps profile.Represent Fedcap at external forums, promoting the organisations offer and securing new opportunities for collaboration.EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONSBachelors degree in business administration or related field; or equivalent experience.Experience working at senior leadership level within a complex organisation.Proven experience in setting up new business entities, preferably within the non-profit sector.Strong project management skills with a track record of successfully delivering complex projects.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a multicultural environment.Ability to travel extensively within the country.EQUALITY, DIVERSITY, & INCLUSIONThe Fedcap Group provides equal employment opportunities to all employees and applicants for employment and prohibits discrimination and harassment of any type without regard to race, color, religion, age, sex, national origin, disability status, genetics, veteran status, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, or any other characteristic protected by national, state or local laws.
