CMV Farms is undertaking the development of a 280-hectare pistachio orchard, alongside our existing 220-hectare property, 15km from Robinvale, Victoria. We are seeking a full-time Orchard Operations Manager to efficiently manage the daily operations of the orchard.Key ResponsibilitiesReporting to the Property Manager, in this key farm leadership role, you will take a hands-on approach to:Overseeing the day-to-day orchard operations by leading a team of workers, providing guidance, training and performance management to ensure efficient and safe daily operationsMonitoring and adjusting orchard operations in response to changing weather conditions and seasonal variationsWorking closely with the Maintenance Manager and Irrigation Manager to maintain a productive and cohesive farming operationMaintaining a full working knowledge of property systems, farm machinery, and all field operationsPlanning, costing and reviewing all aspects of orchard operationsEnsuring compliance with all relevant health, safety and environmental regulationsSkills and Experience5+ years experience in a senior orchard management role, with a hands-on approach to leading a motivated team of workersExcellent technical knowledge of orchard management practices and seasonal programsProven problem-solving and decision-making skills, with the ability to adapt to changing conditionsMechanical aptitude and working knowledge of orchard machineryProven commercial acumen with proficiency in Microsoft programs and other relevant softwareExcellent verbal and written communication skillsAttention to detail and a commitment to maintaining a high quality of workA forklift licence and chemical handling certificate are preferableTertiary qualifications in horticulture, agriculture or a related field are looked favourably upon but not essentialWhat we OfferCompetitive salary package, including a 3-bedroom farmhouse, dual cab work ute, phone, and laptopFlexibility around the seasonal demands of the orchardSupplied PPE & tools of the tradeA cohesive team environmentModern machinery and equipmentRelevant training with a strong focus on work health and safetyCorporate discounts on health and wellbeing products and servicesOpportunity to build a successful career in farming with ongoing training and developmentIf you have the skills and experience necessary and want to become an important part of our successful team, then please click apply to submit your cover letter and resume.Current CMV employees, please apply through your internal career site. #J-18808-Ljbffr
