Job Description

The People & Culture Business Partner (P&C BP) plays a critical role in aligning the organisations people strategies with business objectives. Acting as a trusted advisor to managers and leaders, this full-time role ensures that workforce planning, leadership development, and employee engagement initiatives support both team effectiveness and the organisations long-term success.By focusing on coaching, performance management, and culture-building, the P&C BP helps shape a high-performing, engaged, and values-driven workforce that contributes to Contour Educations mission to reshape education, one student at a time. This is a newly created, hybrid role and available for immediate start.Who are weWe empower students and their studies by providing an ecosystem of highly effective tutoring, resources and support. We run weekly small-group tutoring sessions, presented by young and experienced tutors that teach in a simple, intuitive and engaging way. We also supplement these sessions with weekly workshops, complimentary 1-on-1 support and a learning portal with a comprehensive suite of resources and practice material to help students master their subjects.Over 6,000 students and 150+ team members have joined Contour since our founding in the beginning of 2020. We''ve been listed three years in a row as one of the Fastest Growing Startups by the Australian Financial Review, and we''re continuing to multiply year over year!It''s our vision to reshape education, starting with tutoring.What you''ll doStrategic P&C PartnershipPartner with managers and leaders to integrate people strategies into business plans.Provide guidance on workforce planning, team structuring, and succession planning.Support leaders in aligning P&C initiatives with business goals and culture.Leadership Coaching & Manager SupportAdvise and coach managers on leadership effectiveness, team dynamics, and performance management.Provide guidance on feedback conversations, conflict resolution, and talent development.Support managers in fostering an inclusive and high-performing team culture.Workforce Planning & Talent DevelopmentCollaborate with managers to identify skills gaps, future talent needs, and career progression pathways.Support succession planning to build internal talent pipelines.Ensure career development frameworks are embedded across teams.Performance & EngagementPartner with managers to drive a culture of continuous feedback and high performance.Support performance review processes, coaching managers on goal-setting and development plans.Implement engagement strategies that enhance employee motivation and retention.P&C Policies, Compliance & Best PracticesAct as an advisor on P&C policies, ensuring compliance and alignment with company culture.Provide insights on best P&C practices in line with industry trends and legal requirements.Support leaders in navigating employee relations matters with fairness and consistency.Change Management & Organisational DevelopmentSupport change initiatives by advising managers on communication and implementation strategies.Drive cultural initiatives that reinforce Contours Core Service Values and Team Values.Foster an adaptable and resilient workforce through effective change leadership.Skill RequirementsHonesty and IntegrityPassion for People Experience and helping people achieve their best, in line with organisational goalsHigh Level of EmpathyEnergy and EnthusiasmExcellent Communication SkillsIndependence & ProactivenessWilling to Listen, Learn & LeadIntelligence & CreativityProfessional RequirementsBachelors Degree or higher in Human Resources Management or similar.3+ years experience in a P&C BP role in a start-up or scale-up.
