With a commitment to safety, quality, and innovation, we are expanding and looking for skilled professionals to join our team.PositionWe are seeking a talented and safety-focused Switching Operator to join our team in delivering Underground & Overhead Power Projects on behalf of Western Power and other clients. The successful candidate will take charge of the planning, execution, and completion of switching and commissioning activities for assigned power projects. This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled professional looking to make a real impact on critical power distribution systems.Key ResponsibilitiesPlan and schedule switching activities based on network conditions and load demands.Develop switching programs to execute switching operations safely and efficiently.Perform switching, isolation, and restoration of power circuits following Western Powers and other clients operational standards and safety procedures.Collaborate with Network Controllers, field crews, and contractors to ensure smooth execution of switching programs.Conduct pre-switching safety checks, issue access permits, and carry out hazard assessments.Maintain compliance with electrical safety rules and network standards in all activities.Support outage coordination to ensure safe execution of works and respond promptly to fault isolation and network restoration.Maintain accurate switching and operational records, ensuring all field documentation is updated.Participate in safety briefings, toolbox talks, and incident investigations.Assist with the commissioning and testing of new installations and upgrades.Skills And QualificationsActive Western Power HV / LV switching ticket.In-depth knowledge of the responsibilities and legal obligations of an HV Switching Operator.Experienced Electrical Tradesperson or a solid understanding of Electrical Construction Methods.Strong understanding of Western Powers switching guidelines and electrical safety procedures.Experience RequiredProven experience in switching operations on distribution networks, including back feeds and temporary network configurations.Practical knowledge of power distribution systems, with an emphasis on safety and operational efficiency.Why Future Power WA?We believe that attitude is what truly sets our team members apart.
