Company: MarshDescription:We are seeking a talented individual to join our Accounting team at Marsh. This role will be based in Sydney. This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office.Financial Reporting ManagerThe Financial Reporting Manager is responsible for coordinating and managing statutory and group reporting and audit obligations of the Marsh entities within the Pacific region, accounting for transactions (e.g., acquisitions, group reorganisations) and board reporting.The position is responsible for working closely with other accounting staff and working on other ad hoc requirements across all operating companies in the Pacific region.13-month contractWe will count on you to:Prepare and manage staff involved in preparation of the year-end consolidated and company statutory accounts for around 15 entities and related note disclosures in accordance with relevant accounting standards.Partner with the MMC Controllership Centre of Excellence in preparation of the financial statements, as well as coordination with other teams and functions (Accounting Operations, Company Secretarial and other functions) where input is required from those areas.Coordinate with external auditors to ensure annual audit requirements are met.Prepare technical accounting analysis of transactions and local implementation of new accounting standards.Prepare documentation for presentation to the Board and Audit Committees and other key stakeholders.Review and analyze trial balance to ensure accurate recording and movement in balances.Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in areas such as:Identifying business needs for new or redesigned accounting processes and working with relevant stakeholders to implement.Continually evolving management reporting processes and reports to ensure the best available information is presented.As required, work with IT groups and project teams to test and implement new systems and enhancements.Assist tax specialists in the preparation and/or review of tax provision calculation in accordance with US GAAP and local accounting & tax regulations.What you need to have:Minimum 5-10 years general accounting experience.CA / CPA qualified and Degree in Commerce or Accounting or equivalent.Experience in preparation or audit of financial statements, including consolidated financial statements.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Experience managing staff.Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.Be proactive and flexible to changing demands.Experience with a Big 4 or mid-tier professional services firm preferred.What makes you stand out:Experience working in a chartered accountancy firm before moving into corporate.Ability to manage a fast-paced workload.Outstanding organizational skills and the ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects assuming responsibility for them.Proactiveness and flexibility in changing demands.Strong analytical / problem-solving skills.Ability to work & focus under pressure.Strong interpersonal & communication skills ability to communicate with people at various levels.Team player motivated and working together to achieve objectives.Why join our team:We help you be your best through professional development opportunities, interesting work, and supportive leaders.We foster a vibrant and inclusive culture where you can work with talented colleagues to create new solutions and have an impact for colleagues, clients, and communities.Hybrid working model.About us:Marsh McLennan (NYSE: MMC) is a global leader in risk, strategy, and people, advising clients in 130 countries across four businesses: Marsh, Guy Carpenter, Mercer, and Oliver Wyman.
