With offices in Darwin, Palmerston, Katherine, Tennant Creek, and Alice Springs, we are passionate about delivering justice services while driving meaningful change in the legal system.At NAAJA, you will make a difference every daysupporting operations that help deliver legal services to some of the most vulnerable and remote communities in Australia.About the RoleLead the Child Protection Practice Group, mentoring and supervising legal staffProvide legal advice and representation to clients in the Local and Supreme CourtsConduct urban and remote legal advice clinicsHandle litigation and casework in civil law, including child protection, police accountability, discrimination, and tenancyDevelop and implement civil law policies and proceduresSupport regional NAAJA offices, including remote travel and legal outreachWhat we are looking for Key criteriaAdmitted or eligible for admission as a solicitor in NT and the High Court of Australia4+ years post-admission experience in civil law, with a focus on litigation and caseworkProven leadership & mentoring skills in a legal settingStrong cross-cultural communication skills & commitment to social justiceAbility to travel to remote Aboriginal communitiesCurrent drivers licence & Ochre Card (Working with Children Clearance)No criminal history that disqualifies legal practice employmentWhy Darwin?Experience life in the heart of the Northern Territory, where work-life balance is truly achievable.
