Join our progressive organisation and be part of a passionate workforce of forward-thinkers, united by a shared purpose together we enhance the Gold Coast way of life.About the roleWe are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Sewage Treatment Plant Operator to be responsible for the operation of the Citys Sewage/Recycled Water Treatment Plants including managing site activities, maintenance, running of treatment plant process streams, and onsite staff and contractors.What youll be doing:Manage site activities, maintenance, running of treatment plant process streams, and onsite staff and contractors.Provide exception reports and recommend remedial actions to operators for operations outside of Licence Quality Assurance and Integrated Environmental Management Systems requirements.Provide accurate detailed technical advice and knowledge both within the team and to internal and external customers and develop innovative work practices to enhance workplace productivity.Supervise and direct the Operators and assistants.Coordinate corrective and preventative maintenance at the Plant.Undertake other duties and tasks that are reasonable within the limits of the employees skills, competency and training.What you bring to your new role:Certificate III in Water Operations (Wastewater Treatment) (mandatory requirement)Australian Drivers Licence (mandatory requirement)WHS Licence General Construction White Card (mandatory requirement)An ability to work across several different types of treatment process streams at different locationsDemonstrated experience working within a Sewage Treatment PlantAbility to work independently and unsupervisedHigh level of motivation and adaptability, with the ability to prioritise and multitask in a dynamic environmentStrong attention to detail and record-keeping skillsBasic computer literacy, including the ability to use monitoring systems and log dataAbility to participate in an On Call Roster.Please note:To be eligible for this position, you must have permanent working rights in Australia.This position is classified as security-sensitive critical infrastructure positions and the successful candidate will be required to undertake an AusCheck Background Check.You will be required to wear a tight-fitting respirator at times.
