NES Fircroft is partnered with a world leader in mining who is seeking an experienced Mechanical Maintenance Engineer for an initial 6-month contract position based on site located in far north Queensland.As the Maintenance Engineer, you will be accountable for delivering engineering solutions, maintenance strategies, and defect elimination activities that will maintain compliance, improve operating performance and availability for various assets including the Processing Plant, Power Stations, Port Facility as well as Non-processing Infrastructure (NPI), including the Airport & nearby township.The purpose of the role is to sustain and optimise equipment availability through the design and implementation of safe, low risk, cost effective equipment strategies, defect elimination and maintenance engineering support.About the roleMain job responsibilities will include but are not limited to:Identify and plan engineering works with consideration to requirements, budgets and prioritiesDevelop and optimise long-term asset management plans & asset maintenance strategiesData acquisition and analysis to identify, prioritise and implement improvement opportunitiesUndertake complex fault-finding and Root Cause Analysis (RCA) investigations into equipment defects and implement defect elimination countermeasuresProvide support to the Capital Project and Engineering team for operational readiness of new and upgraded equipmentAbout YouAs the successful candidate you will possess the following:Tertiary qualifications in Mechanical EngineeringExtensive experience in mining, minerals processing or similar heavy industry environmentSound understanding of reliability centered maintenance and the ability to develop preventative maintenance strategiesExcellent analytical and investigative skills with specific experience in root cause analyses for fixed plant equipmentExperience with Bulk Materials Handling Equipment Conveyors, Chutes, Hoppers, Product Bins & Tanks Process Plant Experience inclusive of Gyratory Crushers, Screening, Pumping & Piping Systems (Slurry & Process water)Exposure to and experience with classified plant processes (cranes & pressure vessels) and maintenance support requirementsBasic knowledge of Electrical & Control systems and Mechanical Structures and the ability to work with Engineers from these disciplinesProficiency in software such as SAP, Microsoft Office, OnePM and Apollo RCAExperience in deploying Asset Management standards and practices.Whats in it for you:Generous daily rateInitial 6-month contract7/7 Roster FIFO from Brisbane, Cairns or DarwinReach out for more information at Michael.bernard@nesfircroft.com. #J-18808-Ljbffr
