The college also boasts a Family and Early Learning Centre and the Geelong Industry Trade Training Centre (GITTC) on our Goldsworthy site.The College operates through a three sub-school structure to enhance our ''One School One Team'' ethos which emphasises a rigorous focus on Student Learning underpinned by a proactive and supportive well-being framework.Organisationally the college is arranged in three sub schools, the Hendy P-8 Campus and Peacock P-8 Campus Sub School; the Wexford P-8 Campus and Tallis P-8 Campus Sub School and the Goldsworthy Year 9-12 Sub School.The College is very well supported by a strong team working to implement a college wide, sustainable Inclusion Team structure that consists of specialised teachers and education support staff, including a College Inclusion Leader, Inclusion Support Coordinators, Mental Health Wellbeing Leaders (Years P-6), Inclusion Workers and an Inclusion Administration Assistant.The Inclusion Team works closely with the College Nurse, College Wellbeing Team, mentor teachers, education support staff, CALD staff, Allied Health practitioners and DET Student Support Services.Vision and ValuesOur vision is to instill community commitment, confidence and high expectations in lifelong learning by:Constructing curriculum, pedagogy and teacher professionalism to achieve above expected outcomes for all students at each stage of learningDeveloping students who are highly employable with values of resilience, optimism, self-respect and who strive for personal bestDeveloping young people who are engaged, motivated and challenged to fulfil their potentialMaximising educational opportunities and creating purposeful and diverse pathways for all studentsDeveloping partnerships with other schools, community organisations and businessSelection CriteriaPossess a formal qualification in careers counselling and pathways coordination and have a demonstrated understanding of Vocational Education and Training (VET), VCE-VM and VCE pathways.Demonstrated understanding of current Careers software including, VTAC, VASS, work experience programs and online careers resources.Demonstrated capacity to work collaboratively as part of a team and build positive relationships with a range of stakeholders including students, parents, teachers, support staff, work experience placements, tertiary providers, and other relevant agencies and organisations related to careers and pathways programs.Ability to maintain comprehensive student records and use this information to improve outcomes so that students can achieve their pathway goals.Possess excellent organisational skills, and a demonstrated ability to prioritise work, work independently and show initiative.RoleWe are seeking a professionally qualified Careers and Pathways Practitioner to commence in Term 2 2025. The Careers and Pathways Advisor will be responsible for careers counselling, pathway support and management, oversight of the work Experience and SWL programs and assisting with inputting data on VASS at various times throughout the year.ResponsibilitiesCareer practitioner across all campuses, based at the Senior Campus (Yrs 9-12) @ Goldsworthy Rd.Work with students as required, accepting referrals and appointments from across the entire school community.Provide confidential careers counselling, and if required, know when and where to refer students for further assistance.Provide pathways support at all times.Strong focus on leading Yr 12 VCE students through their senior school / VTAC / TAFE / Preference / Intentions / Pathway / Scholarships / SEAs process.Develop, plan and execute all programs within Careers department including Career Action Plans, Yr 12 Intentions Interviews, Yr 10 Work Experience, SWL etc.Deliver career related sessions at/to staff briefings, home groups, year level and college assemblies.Maintain strong and positive relationships with external stakeholders including, but not exclusive to employers, community groups, Universities, TAFEs, RTOs etc.Attend and participate in meetings of Careers Networks ie) GCTA, GRLLEN.Co-ordinate and deliver an ''in house Career Expo'' week each year.Co-ordinate and deliver all Careers related guest speakers, demonstrations, events and excursions.Prepare articles for publication on social media, compass and in the college newsletter.Advertise all employment, training and community notices to students and parents.Respond to all parent, student and community enquiries.Maintain a vibrant careers centre with up to date resources and promotional material.Assist with Morrisby testing period, manage the mentor interview process.Collaborate with NBC Alumni and maintain relationships with graduated students as required.Prepare destination data for senior school co-ordinators and principal class.Keep up-to-date with all tertiary provider offerings, local employment and industry opportunities, and employment market data.Assist students with resumes, cover letters, USIs, TFNs, job applications and any other careers related process.Who May ApplyIndividuals with the aptitude, experience and/or qualifications to fulfill the specific requirements of the position.EEO AND OHS CommitmentThe Department of Education is committed to the principles of equal opportunity, and diversity and inclusion for all.
