Using your advanced interpersonal and stakeholder management skills, you''ll build strong working relationships and strategically promote a culture of proactive engagement that enhances Council''s reputation and delivers positive outcomes for the community. The team is passionate about creating great experiences through internal communication, customer service, marketing, community engagement and media liaison. You''ll join a team of talented, creative and diverse individuals who understand that effective communication is essential in fostering strong relationships across the Toowoomba Region.How to be successful in this position:The successful candidate will possess the following skills and attributes:Possession of a degree in communications, humanities or social science from a recognised university with substantial consultation experience or a combination of extensive experience, expertise and competence, which enables you to perform all the duties of the position. IAP2 Australasia Certificate in Engagement is highly desirable.Significant experience in developing engagement and communication strategies and delivering engagement activities and collateral with the ability to turn technical information into engaging public documents.Experience in leading a team to deliver contemporary best-practice community engagement programs, with the ability to mentor, coach and develop team members to build team capability.Highly developed interpersonal and stakeholder management skills, with demonstrated experience working with politicians and senior staff.Demonstrated ability to coordinate the workload of a team and manage and resolve competing priorities and deadlines in a complex project environment.A high level of familiarity with contemporary community engagement methodologies, with experience in making strategic improvements and developing key policies and guidelines to positively influence reputation and brand.Commitment to Councils Organisational Values and Behaviours of Honesty, Accountability, Respect, Teamwork and Safety and Wellbeing.How to apply:To apply, please submit your current resume and a 2-page cover letter addressing each of the success criteria included in the Position Description.
