We undertake assessments, compliance and audits, handle customer enquiries and use our expertise to research, develop and implement processes to make it easier for our customers to comply and do business with us.As an Assistant Operations Officer you will provide advice and support the administration of relevant legislation and/or assessment of complex transactions to ensure effective delivery of service outcome and achieve key performance indicators. The role allows for decision making and working in a flexible team-based environment.Your day-to-dayAssess complex matters and provide professional legislative and procedural advice to clients and client representatives to ensure that they comply with statutory obligations.Coach and develop staff and provide technical, system and procedural advice to ensure consistency and accuracy in the administration of legislation.Undertake quality assurance reviews within the team to identify training needs and ensure accuracy.Allocate and monitor tasks assigned to team members to ensure timely and quality service delivery.Maintain comprehensive and up to date knowledge of legislation, policies, procedures and business rules to provide quality advice to customers and stakeholders.Undertake research, investigations and audits to identify and gather evidence on non-compliance and/or fraudulent activities against statutory provisions.Prepare submissions and reports to the relevant authorities including referral of fraudulent activities and attend court, if required to recommend action on non-compliance and/or fraudulent activities.Contribute to the implementation of change through continuous improvement and innovation to meet the business requirements.To be successful in this role you will demonstrate:Maintaining technical competence in a constantly changing legislative environment across all legislative areas.Demonstrating professional judgement, tact, sensitivity and initiative when obtaining information, negotiating with and gaining audit acceptance from clients and/or their representatives whilst maintaining positive client relationships.Completing multiple categories of work with competing priorities and timeframes.The ability to communicate both in written and verbal with internal and external customers.What we need from you:An up-to-date CV and a brief cover letter outlining how your skills and experience are aligned to the role.For enquiries regarding this position, please contact David Rousseau via david.rousseau@revenue.nsw.gov.au.About Revenue NSWRevenue NSW is the states principal revenue management agency.
