Shellharbour Private Hospital is an acute surgical facility, comprising of 3 operating theatres, a rehabilitation centre and a 46 bed Ward. The hospital has an excellent reputation in providing high-quality patient-centred care to the local community.The General Services Officer will be responsible for hotel services (food services, housekeeping and general duties). The successful candidate will be confident in multitasking, demonstrate maturity, leadership and professionalism and thrive on working within a flexible, dynamic environment.The position offered is casual. This can include shifts starting at 0530 or finishing at 2000. It can also include weekend work. Flexibility is available for suitable candidates.Essential Criteria:Current Working with Children check/Police CheckFlexibility to work day, afternoon, evening and weekend shifts are essential.Competent keyboard skills and MS Office proficiencyAn understanding of a Food Safety Program, HACCP, Quality Management Processes and WHS requirements - or willing to learnKnowledge of Infection Control standards.Effective time management skillsExcellent communication, organisational and negotiation skillsAbility to physically handle medical and non-medical suppliesCurrent drivers licenceDesirable Criteria:Healthcare experienceFood safety certificate (will be required prior to commencement)Applicants are required to provide a resume along with a comprehensive outline on how they meet the criteria.Note: This position is classified as a Category A role within a health care setting.
