Join the team at one of the leading public health organisations in Australia!About the RoleThe Brighter Beginnings Health and Development Check Team in Sydney Local Health District provides child-focused health and development screening for preschool age-children in their Early Childhood Education and Care (ECEC) settings across the Sydney Region. The program is a collaboration between NSW Health and the NSW Department of Education, which aims to identify childrens health and development support needs, and enhance their access to early intervention services, before starting school. This Social Work position is responsible for supporting the implementation and development of the SLHD Brighter Beginnings Health and Development Checks for four-year-old children in early education settings. This includes the completion of screening assessments, assisting in capacity building of health and education staff involved in the Brighter Beginnings initiatives, and supporting the case management of children with complex needs identified as part of the health and development checks, including the allocation and prioritisation of referrals to clinical teams and scheduling of initial appointments where appropriate.Ideal CandidateRecognised qualification in Social Work and eligibility for membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers.Highly developed interpersonal skills, including the ability to engage with clients from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds and highly developed customer service skills for in-person and phone/virtual modalities of care.Current NSW Drivers Licence (P1 and P2 acceptable).All candidates must have full working rights within Australia.Benefits and Perks!Paid Parental Leave & Annual Leave loading.Opportunity for extra tax savings through Salary Packaging and Novated Leasing.
