The mine is a deep, sub-level open stoping operation with complex mining conditions.The Rosebery Mine has been at the heart of the Rosebery community since 1936 and is one of Tasmanias largest and oldest continuously operating underground mines producing zinc, copper, and lead concentrates, as well as gold dor.It supports approximately 500 employees and their families, has a strong community focus, and engages a wide range of local businesses from across Tasmania in its supply chain, boosting the economy of the West Coast of Tasmania and beyond.The mine has a strong future, with extensive exploration activities which have continued to grow the resource and require mine planning beyond 10 years of continued operation.MMG Rosebery has an office in Burnie (Tasmania), giving employees the flexibility to work from there when they are not required onsite.Reporting to the Senior Surveyor - Mining, this role is to assist the Surveying team with surface and underground surveying capabilities at our Rosebery Operation.This is an exciting opportunity which will kick start your career in Surveying, providing hands-on training, guidance, and mentoring where you will gain a broad understanding of surveying best practices whilst working in an Underground Mining Operation.The role is offered as either a residential or DIDO (Drive-In/Drive-Out) in/to Rosebery on a 7:7 roster.Shared accommodation in Rosebery will be provided for DIDO arrangements or alternatively benefit from your own private housing (provided) for residential workers.Key Accountabilities (however not limited to):Assisting surveyors with fieldwork, including marking points, lines, and offsets with pegs and spray paint.Occasionally perform routine survey tasks independently (training provided).Preparing work sites and handling survey equipment.Collecting and managing field data under the surveyors guidance.Setting up and operating drones and processing data (training provided).Refresh and maintain survey markings and signage as needed.Maintaining and stocking survey equipment and supplies.Provide timely and accurate surveys for end of month reporting.Project administration (as required).Adherence at all times to the MMG Code of Conduct.
