We are seeking Trades Assistants to work as part of a team providing support to factory production, performing allocated tasks to meet prescribed targets, criteria and deadlines.This position is on an 8/6 roster and is residential in Karratha based.What you will do:Adhere to WHS Policy and programs to ensure personal safety and the safety of others in the workplace.Adherence to Hazard Identification, Risk Assessment and Controls (HIRAC) and Safe Work Instructions (SWI).Participate in setting the standard of Good Manufacturing Practices and ensuring a safe work environment is always maintained.Actively participate in Production and Pre-start meetings.Accountable for adherence to our product Quality Control requirements (First part check) and ensure they are maintained for all production processes.Perform and maintain OEE system (Axxoscoding).Able to work from technical drawings and instructions to complete allotted tasks.Undertake tasks as instructed and operate appropriate equipment safely and in accordance with all instructions and guidelines, including health and safety.Wear all Personal Protective Equipment supplied as instructed.Generally, monitor the work and work practices being undertaken and completed and undertake required checks to identify problems.Fix minor issues, as appropriate, that may arise.Immediately notify direct Supervisor when issues occur that cannot be resolved by you.Ensure that continuous factory production is maintained wherever possible.Undertake required equipment inspection, maintenance and cleaning in accordance with instructions.Maintain accurate computer data/records/documentation associated with your work.Carry out planned tasks in accordance with requirements.Carry out tasks within prescribed time limits.Ensure compliance to quality standards, policies and procedures.Immediately report problems/failures that may impact on the organization and/or its clients/customers to direct Supervisor.Contribute towards the efficient running of the team.Adhere to all organization policies and procedures.From time to time, you may be expected to be part of special projects as are reasonably required of your job role.You will have the ability to meet all production requirements within the process area to maximize the use of the organizations resources and meet established production specifications and schedules; safety, quality, performance and people.Required:License to operate a forklift.License to perform dogging.Maintain tools and dies.Operate mobile load shifting equipment.Participate in quality assurance techniques.Undertake manual handling.Undertake work health and safety activities in the workplace.Use hand tools.Work safely and effectively in manufacturing and engineering.Preferred:Carry out mechanical cutting.Use comparison and basic measuring devices.Use power tools/hand held operations.What''s in it for you?Global Perspective: collaborating with all stakeholders of the entire Metso organisation.Wellbeing and safety: benefit from occupational healthcare, generous benefits plan, healthy living rewards, mental well-being services, on-site gym, meal benefits, car/bicycle benefits, and engagement surveys.Annual bonus: global incentive programs tied to business and performance targets.Hybrid working possibilities: while we are big advocates of meeting and collaborating in person, we believe in fostering a flexible work environment.Extensive learning opportunities: ongoing growth dialogues, internal mobility, mentoring programs, education assistance, ambitious projects, and global opportunities.Worldwide support: leverage our network of peers across the world, offering valuable assistance.
