This is a generalist type role in a small team, and as such youd get involved with a wide spectrum of activities including; month-end close process, maintaining financial records, preparing management and financial reports, some budgeting and forecasting, and ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations.What youll doRunning point on all end-to-end accounting, payroll and financial reporting activities, including month-end close and year-end close, for our Australian and US entitiesOwning accounts receivable (AR), accounts payable (AP), and credit card and bank reconciliation functionsManaging our cash and banking balances and ensuring that we have money in the right places to do businessWorking with external advisors to meet the companies'' periodic (eg. GST / sales tax & payroll) compliance obligations and annual audit and tax requirementsAssisting in the preparation of annual budgets and periodic forecasts, monitoring variances and providing explanations for deviationsBusiness partnering with Department Heads to help them better understand department-level performance and plan for the futureAssisting with the preparation of content for internal monthly business reviews and quarterly Board decks, as well as sharing financial information with investors on a quarterly basisSupporting ad hoc projects as needed, including identifying process improvements and helping to scale the organisationMonitoring and maintaining internal controls to ensure compliance with company policies and proceduresWho we look forWe focus on hiring values-aligned people because we believe the right person can learn everything to be successful in their role.
