Were on a mission to build the worlds first and fairest launch platform for both fans and retailers.Our platform helps global brands and retailers maximize these high-intensity retail moments. We provide hype-scale infrastructure, bot and scammer detection and robust checkout management so that sites dont crash, scammers are squeezed out, and REAL fans win. We do this using a bunch of extremely cool and innovative technologies, and were constantly iterating to improve the fan experience. If youre passionate about EQLs mission but you dont feel totally confident you meet all our selection criteria, we strongly encourage you to apply anyway.Were looking for an Accountant who will be responsible for managing day-to-day finance activities that enable our small start-up business to build ecommerce tools of the future. This is a generalist type role in a small team, and as such youd get involved with a wide spectrum of activities including; month-end close process, maintaining financial records, preparing management and financial reports, some budgeting and forecasting, and ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations.What youll doRunning point on all end-to-end accounting, payroll and financial reporting activities, including month-end close and year-end close, for our Australian and US entitiesOwning accounts receivable (AR), accounts payable (AP), and credit card and bank reconciliation functionsManaging our cash and banking balances and ensuring that we have money in the right places to do businessWorking with external advisors to meet the companies'' periodic (eg. GST / sales tax & payroll) compliance obligations and annual audit and tax requirementsAssisting in the preparation of annual budgets and periodic forecasts, monitoring variances and providing explanations for deviationsBusiness partnering with Department Heads to help them better understand department-level performance and plan for the futureAssisting with the preparation of content for internal monthly business reviews and quarterly Board decks, as well as sharing financial information with investors on a quarterly basisSupporting ad hoc projects as needed, including identifying process improvements and helping to scale the organisationMonitoring and maintaining internal controls to ensure compliance with company policies and proceduresWho we look forWe focus on hiring values-aligned people because we believe the right person can learn everything to be successful in their role.
