Transport Manager | Refrigerated and General Freight | Regionally based, distribution centre based in the Goulburn Valley.Manage our outbound Freight operations for our major clients.Build key relationships with tier one freight providers.Help build new automation freight systems within our inventory processes.We have an incredible opportunity available for a Transport/ Freight Manager to lead our team in regional Victoria, reporting directly to the directors of the business.The primary objective of this role is to oversee all inbound and outbound freight operations while working collaboratively with our team. This position also plays a key role in supporting staff development, ensuring they achieve their full potential.As the key spokesperson for our freight management, you will have the opportunity to partner closely with internal senior stakeholders to deliver on logistical best practice, as well as manage the integral relationship between both our major clients.What is the role?Control freight movement from various locations throughout Australia.Manage the relationships and operational engagement alongside future freight service providers.Ensure Vadpak Transport Division complies with the mutual commitments defined in freight related service level agreements.Oversee the financial management of freight costs ensuring to come in line with business expectations.Lead regular working in progress meetings with key suppliers and internal stakeholders within Supply, Operations, Customer Service.Lead problem solving initiatives to continuously improve processes across our supply chain workflow focusing on safety, service, sustainability, and cost.Investigate delivery options for new customers and review delivery routes for changes to network designs.Lead a team of four Freight Coordinators to achieve objectives, support professional development and promote team engagement.What experience/skills do I have?Significant experience working within a similar role within logistics (Retail, FMCG industry experience highly desirable).Exceptional stakeholder and relationship management skills.Demonstrated experience overseeing freight management projects and implementing effective continuous improvement initiatives.Strong Leadership skills and team development capabilities.Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.Excellent IT literacy and competency with Freight Management Systems.Intermediate to advanced MS Suite and Excel Skills.Express your interest by selecting APPLY NOW and upload your CV.
