We own and manage farms, factories, and distribution channels, ensuring complete control over the essential aspects of bringing livestock from paddock to plate.We are currently seeking an experienced 2IC Farm Manager to join our team located in Warrnambool, Victoria. This position will involve managing farm activities, livestock, and pasture management while ensuring high standards of animal welfare, machinery upkeep, and operational efficiency. You will play a critical role in monitoring and reporting on farm operations while working closely with the farm manager.MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:Assist the Farm Manager in overseeing farm operations, ensuring smooth day-to-day functioningDisplay excellent pasture knowledge and implement effective grazing management practices to optimize pasture and feed qualityManage and monitor the feeding, health, and general care of livestockMaintain and monitor electronic dairy systems, ensuring accurate data management and system functionalityCollaborate with the Farm Manager to monitor progress, provide updates, and communicate any operational concernsPerform routine farm maintenance and adhere to machinery upkeep schedules to ensure all equipment is running efficientlyBe part of a team environment and contribute to a positive & productive workplaceParticipate in both on-site and off-site training to enhance your skills and industry knowledgeSKILLS & EXPERIENCES:Previous farm management or relevant farming experience is recommendedLarge herd experience preferred however willing to train the suitable candidateStrong understanding of pasture management, grazing techniques, and livestock careSolid understanding of electronic dairy systems and data managementGood knowledge of farm machinery and maintenance schedulesAbility to work well within a team and independently when requiredAbility to communicate effectively and take initiativeA strong passion for farming and working outdoorsFlexible, reliable, and able to work a split-shift rosterWHY JOIN US?Competitive remunerationEmployee rewards programOpportunity for career progression within our global organisationSafe and supportive work environment by providing an Employee Assistance ProgramApply now by sending your updated CV to recruitment@midfield.com.auThe Midfield Group is proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer. #J-18808-Ljbffr
