English and Literary Studies has a diverse undergraduate teaching and research portfolio and an active Higher Degree cohort. Since 1956, the discipline has housed the literary magazine, Westerly.About the opportunitySupport and deliver core teaching programs of the discipline, which is a major in English and Literary Studies and a minor in Film Studies and Creative Writing, as well as other units such as Gender Studies and Environmental Humanities.Engage in impactful research and supervise postgraduate projects and students, while enhancing the Universitys research profile and community engagement.About youPhD (completed or near completion) in English and Literary Studies or other higher professional qualifications appropriate to the discipline.Demonstrated ability and willingness to teach in a variety of undergraduate units in English and Literary Studies across time periods and themes/genres such as Creative Writing and Film.Evidenced understanding and application of pedagogical philosophies and practices appropriate to English and Literary Studies.Evidence of successful supervision or co-supervision of Honours and/or postgraduate projects, relative to opportunity.Emerging track record of successful competitive funding.Experience in and/or willingness to participate in the editing and publishing of literary magazines/journals.Note: A current National Police Clearance Certificate will be required by the successful applicant.Please apply online via the Apply Now button and address the selection criteria in your submission in a separate document.
