As a Senior Financial Accountant (Assets), You WillManage the month end process for asset accounting, working with the QSS Assets team to ensure the depreciation run and capital works in progress settlements are completed within the timeframes of the month end timetable.Provide accurate, professional and timely advice to Business Groups on asset policies for Capital Work-in-Progress, acquisitions, disposals, transfers, changes to useful lives and revaluations based on a good working knowledge.What You Will Do (key Responsibilities/duties)Prepare monthly reconciliation of asset movements, depreciation analysis and Capital Work-in-Progress to ensure accuracy of the SAP Fixed Asset Register.Coordination of the annual requirements to ensure DPI''s compliance with Australian Accounting Standards and Queensland Treasury''s Non-Current Asset Policies including but not limited to the annual rolling asset revaluation program, asset useful life and impairment reviews, and asset stocktake.What You Will Bring (qualifications, Registrations, Experience)While accounting qualifications are not mandatory, the possession of a relevant degree and membership of CPA Australia, the Institute of Chartered Accountants Australia (ICAA), or MIPA status with the Institute of Public Accountants (IPA) would be considered to be highly desirable given the technical nature of this role.For international qualifications, the applicant will need their qualification assessed, to determine comparability with the Australian Qualifications Framework.
