It is dedicated to driving economic growth, sustainable development, and community prosperity across Queensland, playing a pivotal role in shaping the future of our state.About the role:As part of an established governance and legal function, this role is a senior member of the legal team advising the EDQ Executive and other key internal clients across a range of major projects including urban precincts, residential communities, industrial land developments and other infrastructure. Day to day you will:Advise on planning, development and environmental law matters (with a focus on the Economic Development 2012 (Qld), Planning Act 2016 (Qld) and Local Government Act 2009 (Qld) as well as related legal issues including property, commercial, construction and contract law;Provide advice on administrative law, statutory interpretation and EDQ powers and responsibilities related to the delivery of major projects and infrastructure;Advise on and draft development, planning and infrastructure related agreements including but not limited to priority development areas, designations and infrastructure agreements;Advise and assist on tendering and procurement related matters;Play a key (at times lead) role in project development teams;Manage external legal and related advisors; andAs a senior team member, mentor and develop other members of the legal team;Skills/Experience:To be considered for this role you will have:Admission as a Legal Practitioner of the Supreme Court of Queensland with 6+ years PAE in planning and environment law;A commercial approach, allowing you to provide strategic, pragmatic legal advice;Exceptional communication and engagement skills to develop collaborative and effective relationships; andDeveloped skills in mentoring and managing other lawyers.Awaiting you is:The opportunity to work on significant projects across Queensland;An effective, established and collegiate legal function;Salary and benefits up to ~$200k, 4 weeks annual leave, flexible work practices; andA workplace that empowers its staff and values your contribution.Apply now:APPLY or contact Peter Liaw at Peppercorn Recruitment on 1300 804 625 or email peter@peppercornrecruitment.com.au, quoting reference number 3891689.
