We seek outstanding individuals who are committed to mastering this highly specialised field.We are looking for exceptional candidates who:Possess a strong academic background in biomedical or health sciences.Are highly motivated, detail-oriented, and committed to clinical excellence, research, and teamwork.Exhibit outstanding problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in high-pressure situations.Have a proactive approach to learning and professional development.Responsibilities include:Completing the Australia and New Zealand College of Perfusionists (ANZCP) -accredited training program - Monash University Master of Cardiovascular Perfusion.Meeting Entry Level 1 of the Monash program, requiring an Australian bachelors degree (or equivalent) in a relevant field (human biology, physics, and chemistry) with a WAM of 60 (GPA 5.0).Developing advanced practical competency in cardiopulmonary bypass and related cardiac support.Participating in cutting-edge research, quality assurance initiatives, and clinical service provision.Key ResponsibilitiesOperate and monitor sophisticated cardiac support devices, including heart-lung machines, intra-aortic balloon pumps, ECMO, and cell savers.Assist with pharmacological and anaesthetic administration, demonstrating precision and attention to detail.Maintain clinical equipment and supplies to ensure the highest standards of patient care.Engage in high-level audits, research projects, and scientific presentations, contributing to advancements in perfusion science.Collaborate on national and international registries (ANZSCTS and ANZCPR), providing valuable insights into cardiac surgery outcomes.Attend structured training sessions, scientific meetings, and professional development activities to maintain ANZCP certification and position yourself as a leader in the field.Details of AppointmentFixed term, full time, day worker position working 76 hours per fortnight commencing as soon as possible for two (2) years.*notwithstanding hours may be negotiated with the successful applicant.Salary: $73,834 to $111,364 per annum. Our Employer 11% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.In addition, the following allowances will contribute to the overall package available:30% of base salary as Market Allowance.On call and call back allowances.Professional Development Allowance of up to $1000 per annum.Relocation and accommodation assistance, within Department of Health guidelines can be provided.Youll have access to salary package a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year + other benefits if eligible.Eligibility:Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria:Satisfactory completion of an appropriate course of study at a recognised tertiary institution.Applicants should note the following criteria are desirable:Progression towards qualifications in Clinical Perfusion leading to certification by the Australian and New Zealand Board of Perfusion.The Head of the State Service has determined that the person nominated for this job is to satisfy a preemployment check before taking up the appointment, on promotion or transfer.
