This involves proactive engagement, monitoring, and providing strategic direction and technical expertise.The team conducts analysis, research, surveillance, and engagement to achieve appropriate regulatory outcomes. They also consider applications for legislative relief, support regulatory reform, and assist other ASIC teams in enforcement and compliance actions.The roleAs a Senior Specialist, you will be accountable for providing strategic analysis and advice, assessing highly complex regulatory matters, and offering possible solutions on various regulatory issues. In partnership with the sector leadership team, facilitating strategic thinking and the thought process around how best to respond to emerging issues across the sector. Identifying new ways to utilise data to undertake roles, including effective collection, management, analysis, and communication of insights from data.You will also be leading the identification and implementation of effective regulatory strategies, interventions, and law reform to improve consumer outcomes. Working collaboratively with the Senior Executive Leader, other Senior Managers, and Senior Specialists in establishing meaningful and effective stakeholder engagement and relationships across the sector. Identifying potential areas for law reform and assisting in law reform projects.You will effectively represent ASIC externally and develop productive relationships with stakeholders such as government, other regulators, consumer groups, and industry groups. Build and manage strategic partnerships with stakeholders (Treasury, APRA, ATO), industry groups, and other regulatory bodies to represent ASIC externally.You will be coordinating and representing ASIC at government, industry, and association forums, overseeing the development of agendas, papers, meeting records, and disseminating information to the team. Guiding project teams undertaking research, analysis, and project work on emerging issues across the sector as required. As well as coaching team members to encourage appropriate levels of research and analysis of issues to achieve a high standard of work.About youThe successful candidate will have a relevant tertiary qualification and advanced experience in advising on complex transactions or projects within the Australian financial services industry, particularly in the Superannuation sector. They should possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, strategic thinking, and analytical abilities.Additionally, the candidate will have experience in a technical leadership role, providing strategic direction and mentoring in a high-performing environment. Knowledge of legislation relevant to the regulation of the Superannuation industry by ASIC is essential.About ASICASIC''s remit is one of the broadest of regulators across the world.
